QUESTION OF THE WEEK, WHICH WILL BE DONE IN A FOUR PART INSTALLMENT, PER POSTER RICH,  NAME YOUR TOP FIVE FAVORITE GUITARISTS?

Next week will be vocalists, so put your thinking cap on.

I always had a top solid three, after that…?

1. Randy Rhoads

2. John Sykes

3. George Lynch

As of this typing, this will be my two other choices:

4. Eddie Van Halen

5. Eric Johnson

  3. Five Favorite Guitarists
    1. Tony Iommi – The Godfather, The King; as great as his riffs are, always loved his solos, which seemed to be underated.
    2. Criss Oliva – Savatage’s own, incredible riffs & solos, great songwriting with his brother Jon and the late Paul O’Neill.
    3. Dimebag – From that opening riff of “Cowboys…” and his amazing and original soloing, the best at that time since EVH & Randy Rhodes. Along with Oliva, gone too soon.
    4. Jimmy Page – Obviously his producing and songwriting with Zep are legendary, but never felt he got his due as a guitarist; incredible playing.
    5. Karl Logan – The best guitarist Manowar ever had; his style fit their music best (and I am aware of the terrible crimes he committed, and was convicted of, but doesn’tchange how I feel about only his guitar playing).
