…and another one….
Motorhead: Tank
Hi Rattlehead
Speaking of bands that sound like Motorhead, have you heard of Nitro Gods? They are from Germany and feature Henny Wolter, who used to play in Primal Fear (who you mentioned in a previous post on this subject) on guitar. I believe that PF’s original (and probably best) drummer Klaus Sperling is also in the band.
Here’s an example of Nitro Gods -https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=kNaypLt1uDE&list=RDkNaypLt1uDE&start_radio=1
What do you think?
DJH, I agree with you, Nitro Gods do have a resemblance to Motorhead.
Thanks for tip about this band. I’ve never heard of them before, so I’ll have to check them out more in depth. That’s one of the many great things on this site that posters, including Dana, help me learn…..I’ve been introduced to so many great bands that I never would have known about if it wasn’t for the posters on this site. So, thank you all!
You are welcome ‘Rattlehead – glad you liked it.
Led Zeppelin: Aerosmith, Bon Jovi, Motley Crue, Poison
Iron Maiden & Motorhead: Metallica: Pantera, Sepultura, 5FDP, Gojira
Rush: Queensryche, Dream Theater, Symphony X, A7X Avenge Sevenfold
Hold on, HOLD ON. You are truly stating, with no joking or baiting, that Motorhead and Iron Maiden sound similar? WOW!
To each there own Pudas
Cinderella – Britny Fox
Raspberries – Beatles or at least Paul McCartney
The Darkness – Queen
Valid point about Britny Fox. They did rock though.
Alot of grunge bands sounded similar back in the day – too many to mention
Agreed, I really never liked that genre. While there was talent, it was so dour.
In my opinion, Alice In Chains blew em all away! I am not a fan of the whole “grunge” movement either, but AIC were/are the exception! STP were/are also an exception!
STP, I don’t really count as “grunge” for two reasons:
1. The band was from San Diego, CA, not Washington state, where that sound originated, and where most of the bands came from, namely Seattle: Mother Love Bone, Nrivana, Pearl Jam (minus Eddie Vedder, who is also from San Diego, CA) Soundgarden, Alice In Chains, Screaming Trees, etc.
2. While their first two records were grungy-esque, the band morphed and became more of general hard rock/poppy rock band. Tiny Music… was definitely a departure in sound and STP was highly influenced by The Beatles.
Dana, I agree 100%! I too don’t really and never have considered STP as “grunge,” AIC I would consider “grunge” more than STP, but I also consider AIC a mix of rock, hard rock, and even metal! Whatever we want to label them as they’re just a great American rock band!’
