Would like to see Creeping Death, the Metallica cover band that’s opened for them and the Iron Maidens. There’s also some great Pink Floyd cover bands that tour that are excellent.
I am going to see Jason Bonham’s Zep experience later this month in Salem, OR.
Crazy Train

Yes, Doug R. told me about them. He has tickets to see the band and included the link to their site, stating that they are Zakk Wylde approved.
I watched a bunch of clips, and the singer sounds uncannily like Ozzy. Just like the vocalist in Fan Valen sounds exactly like Roth.
However the frontman from Crazy Train looks a lot more like Ozzy, than the frontman from Fan Halen resembles Roth,. However, if you close your eyes, it sounds exactly like Dave.
Yep! 9/4, Rivers Casino! Never thought I’d be so excited about seeing a tribute band, but I absolutely can’t wait for the Crazy Train! Heard nothing but great things about them! And the Wylde man himself praises them! Just got back from my vacation/cruise, had such a great time my husband and I already booked our next cruise for next August! Going off the rails here, to quote Sammy Hagar – I wanna go to Mexico! That’s where we’re going next year! Cheers! 🙂
Beatlemania on Broadway in 1979. It was a ‘field trip’ for my high school……and seemed cool enough to my young mind. Fans screaming with excitement seemed a little over the top…….but this was my first tribute and it was great.
Brit Floyd played near us and we had pretty good seats. The first song seemed rather low volume. When they started ‘Learning to Fly’ I stood up cupped my hands and yelled “We can’t hear you !” The bass player heard me loud & clear and rushed over to the main man. He stopped song, while audience members also chimed in about the volume. One minute later they re-started and the crowd cheered and the band enjoyed, laughed and smiled. Great show.
The Musical Box, Canadian band (Quebec) have been recreating 1970’s Peter Gabriel era performances by Genesis for over 30 years. Gabriel brought his young children to see the band many years ago so they could “see what their father used to do.” I’ve seen some bad tribute bands too. An organization that mixes the words Borne & Wind uses the same musicians for Led Zepp, Queen, Stones etc…….I don’t recommend.

That is where Mom took me to see Beatlemania on Broadway, the first and last “musical” I ever enjoyed. I HATE musical theater (BARF). Mom tortured me as a kid: Annie, Cats, Dream Girls (that was semi okay), The Capeman (outside of Marc Anthony‘s voice, TERRIBLE).
Other than seeing the original casts, I have zero to say. She also dragged me to museums, that stuck like a tick but musical theater? NOPE, NOPE and NOPE!
I have come to appreciate some Opera later in life, but I cannot stand musicals.
There are a lot of great tribute or near tribute bands on tour right now. Just off the top of my head, Foreigner, Skynyrd, and Quiet Riot have no original members. Journey, Styx, Vixen only have one original member. Lots of “headliners” charging top dollar for tickets that have one or no original members. In my book, that makes them cover or tribute bands.
