QUESTION OF THE WEEK, AS PER POSTER SILAS BARNABY: WHO OR WHAT ARE THE BEST TRIBUTE BANDS YOU’VE SEEN, HEARD, ENJOYED ??

I have to think about this one, the only tribute band I ever saw was Beatlemania, as a child.

  2. I’ve only ever seen one tribute band. They were called Gunz ‘n’ Rozes, in 1999.

    The only thing wrong with them was that the guy playing Axl Rose turned up on time!

    Another good tribute band that I heard about existed between 2001 – 2023: They called themselves KISS.

  3. Wish You Were Here-Pink Floyd. Last time I saw them they played for over 2-1/2 hours and closed the show with Echoes. Not too many bands will play a 28 minute song as an encore!!!

  4. The best tribute bands i have seen are KI$$ tribute band “Cold Gin” and the all female Iron Maiden tribute band “The Iron Maidens”.

    Cold Gin, Tommy Thayer’s first KI$$ tribute band, had Tommy Thayer performing as Ace Frehley and Jamie St. James performing as Peter Criss. The band was performing in the 1975 costumes. Cold Gin put on a fantastic show. My wife, who had never seen KI$$ in concert before, told me after the Cold Gin show that she understands now why KI$$ was celebrated for their live shows.

    I was skeptical about how The Iron Maidens would be able to perform Iron Maiden songs. But, boy, did they surprise me! They were awesome! I usually don’t like women’s voices for heavy metal music, but the Iron Maidens’ vocalist had a strong Dickinson type voice. The Iron Maidens put on an incredible show. I’d love to see them again.

  5. Honestly I haven’t seen many tribute bands other than some local ones back in the day. I haven’t seen Jason Bonham’s Led Zeppelin Experience, but I’d imagine they’re stellar since they actually tour like Zakk Sabbath.
