The threesome first shared the stage during American Idol in May 2009 for a performance of We Are The Champions. They teamed up again in 2011 at the MTV European Music Awards in Belfast, Ireland for an electrifying eight-minute finale of The Show Must Go On, We Will Rock You and We Are The Champions and in the summer of 2012, Lambert performed a series of shows with Queen across Europe as well as dates in Russia, Ukraine and Poland. They also performed three sold-out gigs at London’s Hammersmith Apollo.
“Let’s ROCK those beautiful arenas JUST ONE MORE TIME!” said Brian May. “I’m completely in awe of the Queen phenomenon,” added Lambert. “The thought of sharing the stage for a full set in North America is so beautifully surreal. I’m honored to be able to pay my respects to Freddie’s memory; he’s a personal hero of mine, and I am deeply grateful for the chance to sing such powerful music for fans of this legendary band. I know this tour will be a huge milestone for me, and with the support of Brian, Roger and the rest of the band, I feel like magic will be on display.”

It’s too bad John Deacon doesn’t want to play with them anymore, would be nice to see the 3 remaining members of Queen together.
Yuck! How many bad decisions are Brian May and Roger Taylor going to make on behalf of their HALF of Queen?! First putting “We will rock you” on Broadway, which always waters down anything having to do with rock n’ roll to sell it to a mass-theater-going audience. Then touring with Paul Rodgers, who I love in Bad Company, etc, but never really “got it” that combo. Queen is OVER and has been for a long, long time. I honor of Freddie, just call it something else! Brian, you want to please the Queen fans who stayed loyal from the ’70s on?…then remaster and release the Earls Court and Hyde Park shows on DVD already. We all know they exist in their entirety because we’ve all seen the boots! Whew, I’m done.
I seen the Broadway Queen musical and it was really good. Great singers, great songs and funny.
In the end was the music good and were you entertained? YES.
I also seen RAIN a Beatles tribute that was incredible too. I’ve seen certain groups live in concert and was disappointed so it’s all a matter of opinion and did you get your money’s worth? May and Taylor Started Queen as Smile, but they call it QUEEN with Adam Lambert not QUEEN. Lambert is a Freak with his voice. Writing skills is up for discussion but I hope we get to see if it is up to par or not.
Yes! At least stop calling it Queen. Saw them with Lambert at summer olympic closing ceremony. It sucked and a disgrace to the original Queen and dye your hair Brian!
Where’s John G? I figured this was right up his alley. Is he away this week? Can someone run down the hall and see if he’s at his desk?
Geez DR, sorry I didn’t comment on this. I’m out of the loop – haven’t heard Lambert sing. From all of the posts, it sound like he has the chops vocally. But let’s be honest, this is a giant money grab. Freddie Mercury wrote a good portion of their best stuff, though Brian May did a lot too. But they have a good chance to make a fortune.
Just good to hear your voice bro…
Michael shoulda been the choice even when Freddie was in bad shape. Glad I saw them back in ’80. Deacon where are you? Lambert is a strong singer.
I laughed at this .. period Queen has really sunk to a low
