OZZY OSBOURNE CANCELS “POWER TRIP” APPEARNCE, STATING HIS BODY IS “NOT READY YET”

Ozzy Osbourne has released the following statement:

“As painful as this is, I’ve had to make the decision to bow out of performing on Power Trip in October.

My original plan was to return to the stage in the summer of 2024, and when the offer to do this show came in, I optimistically moved forward.

Unfortunately, my body is telling me that I’m just not ready yet and I am much too proud to have the first show that I do in nearly five years be half-assed.

The band that will be replacing me on Power Trip will be announced shortly. They are personal friends of mine and I can promise that you will not be disappointed.

Above all, I want to thank my fans, my band, and my crew for their unconditional loyalty and continual support.

I love you all and I will see you soon.

God Bless,

Ozzy”

Power Trip will be held at Empire Polo Club in Indio, California on October 6th-8th. The festival features bands such as: AC/DC, Metallica, Iron Maiden, Guns N’Roses and Tool, further details can be found at powertrip.live.

  1. I admire Ozzy’s will and determination. It must be incredibly hard to not be able to do something you’ve loved and done your entire life due to health issues. But at the same time, even if he can get up on stage for an hour show, he doesn’t have the voice anymore and the last thing we need is another lip sync performance. We saw him
in Cleveland with Stone Sour opening on his last tour. He sounded awful vocally. The band sounded great though. But in my opinion there are way too many rockers staying too long at the party.

  2. Unfortunately my guy is done. I’m so glad he’s keeping his integrity for not going on with this show but super sad knowing that realistically he can’t do it anymore . It’s time to try to get as healthy as possible and try to live a quality life from here on out. Hopefully we will still get some music out of him in the studio. I think a cool send off album would be to include previous musicians in Ozzys band throughout the years, what a all star cast that would be.

  3. Not really that surprising. I do hope Ozzman gets out on the open road come 2024 like he hopes. Don’t Blame Ozzy. Take care Ozzman.

  4. Ozzy has been a hero of mine for over 25 years. Black Sabbath, as I have stated on this website on more than one occasion is my number 1. I’ve also had the pleasure of meeting him in person.

But I’ve said it before and I’ll say it again – “It’s time to stop.”

Ozzy turns 75 this year. With all the crazy stuff he’s done to himself, he is very lucky to still be here. He has openly admitted to have Parkinson’s (or more to the point a form of it) and over the last year or two whenever I’ve seen him in interviews this is taking more and more of him away.

This cannot be helped and this is not Ozzy’s fault. This is the cruel nature of the beast. Nobody is going to forget Ozzy Osbourne; in fact if I could look one or two hundred years into the future I wouldn’t mind betting that his name and picture and history are all well known, and that the music of Black Sabbath is still performed in the same way that Beethoven and Bach’s music is today. I don’t believe that Ozzy is having a hard time in accepting that the end of the line has been reached in terms of being an onstage performer – but I think certain other people (naming no names) maybe having a hard time themselves because, let’s be honest – it’s Ozzy’s name and legend that has got them everything.

Without certain people, sure, Ozzy wouldn’t have made it and would be dead a million times over; but learning to let go is what is needed here. The poor man when I’ve seen him in interviews is having a hard time just speaking – how the hell is he suppose to sing?

We all need to let go of something at sometime. I’m currently learning this myself with certain things that I’ve held onto for way, way too long in the hope of something happening which I now know won’t.

I hate to say it, but the man born John Michael Osbourne on the 3rd December 1948 in Aston, Birmingham, England is no longer the same. He can leave the stage and everything else behind him with his head held high because, let’s face it: He hasn’t done bad for himself has he?

And seeing that he was always told that he wouldn’t amount to much….well he’s proved his doubters wrong a billion times over.

John Lennon wrote a song called “Working Class Hero” – Ozzy Osbourne is THE working class hero.

    God bless him!
