NEW BAND ANNOUNCEMENT, THE REVOLUTION SAINTS, FEATURING JACK BLADES, DOUG ALDRICH AND DEEN CASTRONOVO

dougaldrichrevolutionsaints640 The Revolution Saints, a new band featuring Jack Blades on bass (Night Ranger, Damn Yankees) Doug Aldrich on guitars (Whitesnake) and Deen Castronovo on drums/vocals (Bad English, Journey, Ozzy Osbourne) has been signed to Frontiers Records.

According to their Facebook page, “this is not going to be your average rock ‘n roll album. It is a record that brings back the classic melodic rock style to where it should be: inspiring, uplifting vocals, soaring melodies and musicianship to die for. Or more simply, it is completely badass.

The project was initially the vision of Frontiers’ President Serafino Perugino, who for years had hoped to work on a project where Deen would be the lead vocalist. Having previously worked with all three artists on different projects on Frontiers, having Deen, Jack and Doug on board together was a dream come true for the president of the label. With production overseen by in-house Frontiers man, Alessandro Del Vecchio (who also contributed to the songwriting and played keyboards on the album), the recording process happened in Portland, OR during the summer of 2014.

Revolution Saints’ music is played with a heart and soul and that highlights the passion and the enthusiasm of three of the best rock and all-around musicians in the game today.”

  1. Deen is to Dean, as Jacquie’ is to Jackie. I actually didn’t know he was a good enough singer to front a band. There could be some decent harmonies here.

    1. Deen has a great voice!!! In concert, he sings a lot of the “Escape” songs. I met him a few years back and even said he should front a band. I am frankly excited about what this could sound like…hopefully it delivers!!! There are You Tube videos of him singing. Mother Father is especially good. Almost sounds like Steve himself!!!

    2. Very true on his vocals…just don’t think the drummer/vocalist works behind the kit…in Journey he sings better than the dude replacing Steve Perry…another supergroup though??

  2. This is a great lineup. Castronovo is a very underrated vocalist. Blades is a legend and Aldrich is an awesome guitarist. I’m gonna think the cup half full on this one.

  3. There’s so many of these types of bands that it’s getting difficult to keep track if them all. Most of the time, it’s not worth even trying to. One of the toughest things about being in a band is coming up with a cool name that also fits the music. I’ve been in four bands in 25 years and naming them was my least favorite job. So I can’t see how these guys with multiple bands do it. That’s probably why most of the band names they come up with are stupid.
