The Revolution Saints, a new band featuring Jack Blades on bass (Night Ranger, Damn Yankees) Doug Aldrich on guitars (Whitesnake) and Deen Castronovo on drums/vocals (Bad English, Journey, Ozzy Osbourne) has been signed to Frontiers Records.
According to their Facebook page, “this is not going to be your average rock ‘n roll album. It is a record that brings back the classic melodic rock style to where it should be: inspiring, uplifting vocals, soaring melodies and musicianship to die for. Or more simply, it is completely badass.
The project was initially the vision of Frontiers’ President Serafino Perugino, who for years had hoped to work on a project where Deen would be the lead vocalist. Having previously worked with all three artists on different projects on Frontiers, having Deen, Jack and Doug on board together was a dream come true for the president of the label. With production overseen by in-house Frontiers man, Alessandro Del Vecchio (who also contributed to the songwriting and played keyboards on the album), the recording process happened in Portland, OR during the summer of 2014.
Revolution Saints’ music is played with a heart and soul and that highlights the passion and the enthusiasm of three of the best rock and all-around musicians in the game today.”

i will not buy this
Here you go Eddie….lol Now if this is a marriage between the melodic rock of Night Ranger and Journey and the heaviness of the Aldrich associated Dio/Whitesnake stuff than I’m stoked to check this out. Individually love all three of these musicians! BUT…..chances are this will be some “experimental” one-off with down tuned guitars, decades too late vocal effects, and a desperate “trying too hard to be current” production. I’m REALLY hoping not!!! I hope these guys write some killer tunes and just rock the fu*k out here (fingers crossed).
I think Doug Aldrich is legit as a guitarist, so I will give this a chance. I also agree that that recent surge of supergroups is a little out of hand.
Another one? It never ends.
I was pretty excited about this when I first read it, until I saw that Blades isn’t on vocals. Really? He is a great vocalist. Plus, not to mention it kind of pisses me off just a little, because I’ve been waiting for another Damn Yankees album since like 1992, or at least another Shaw/Blades album.
I’d love a new Damn Yankees album. I don’t think we’ll ever get one though. I’ve heard Uncle Ted say he wasn’t interested in doing one.
Really? You have been “waiting” for another Damn Yankees album? Since 1992? What have you been doing in the meantime?
hahaha..good one!
