MOTLEY CRUE’S “THE DIRT” MOVIE REPORTED TO BE RELEASED ON MARCH 22ND

The long-awaited Motley Crue film based on their 2002 book The Dirt: Confessions Of The World’s Most Notorious Rock Band finally has a release date.

The film entered pre-production back in January after it was originally slated to premiere in the summer of 2016 with Jackass director Jeff Tremaine at the helm – and now it’ll be released in March 2019.

Vocalist Vince Neil confirmed the news on Twitter, saying: “Wow! Just left Netflix offices. Just saw The Dirt movie! F–kin awesome! Can’t wait for everyone to see it! Released March 22nd. Yea!”

In September, Neil sent the rock world into a frenzy by revealing that Crue were back in the studio, with bassist Nikki Sixx later reporting they were recording four new songs for The Dirt with producer Bob Rock.

Sixx said, “F–k can I just say it? I’m listening to the roughs of the new Motley Crue and it feels real and raw.

Everybody is playing like mad and the songs crush. Bob Rock brought the sounds. Plus we have a surprise that will confirm that we’re outta our minds.”

The Dirt stars Daniel Webber as Neil, Douglas Booth as Sixx, Machine Gun Kelly as drummer Tommy Lee and Iwan Rheon as guitarist Mick Mars.

The film also features Tony Cavalero as Ozzy Osbourne and David Constable as Doc McGhee.

Not interested in the movie, (rappers have no place in Rock N’ Roll) but I am interested in the new Crue songs!

Machine Gun Kelly will not be playing “Rappin’ Tommy Lee” though.

Rappers can be legitimate actors (see: Eminem, LL Cool J, Will Smith, 50 Cent, etc.). You don’t have to be a rock drummer to play Tommy Lee.

Robert DeNiro wasn’t required to be a real-life boxer to play one in Raging Bull.

I will reserve judgement, but I will say, to me, Machine Gun Kelly doesn’t resemble Tommy Lee, at all.

Tommy Lee has dark hair/brown eyes and Kelly is a blue eyed blonde with different features. Hopefully, they have a good makeup/special effects department.

Actually, Johnny Knoxville, who Tremaine has worked with on Jackass, etc., resembles Lee, much more so, than Kelly.

RTunes, I don’t listen to rap, so I have no idea who or what you are talking about, nor do I want to know. So when I heard some rapper (whatever his name is) was going to play Tommy Lee, I lost any and all interest I may have had in this film.

He looks like a young Eminem, and not the candy.

Yum, M&M’s, I LOVE chocolate. LOL!

Who? Nevermind. M&M’s, now that I can relate to! Coffee Nut is my favorite! 😉

Speaking of M&Ms – anyone catch a look at Vince Neil?
“Kickstart My Heart” might have a new meaning if Vince keeps on going the way he is.

    SOUNDS DUMB-

This is all very ridiculous. Obviously Forrest Whitaker should be playing Tommy Lee. Alan Alda as Vince Neil. Anne Hathaway as Nikki Sixx. David Caruso as Mick Mars. Claire Danes as Eddie Trunk. Jada Pinket as Gene Simmons. Sylvester Stallone as Paul Stanley. Todd Bridges as Zakk Wylde. Shaquille O’Neal as Ronnie James Dio. Harrison Ford as Stephen Percy. Meryl Streep as Lars Ulrich. Margot Robbie as Lemmy. William Shatner as David Lee Roth. Lady Gaga as Bruce Dickinson. Halle Berry as Tony Iommi. You need imagination to cast a movie.
