KISS have released a statement on their official website addressing the Rock Hall induction. Here is what it states:
“To All Our Fans In Regards To The Rock and Roll Hall of Fame:
Out of respect, Ace and Peter’s recent statements demand a quick response to you, our fans.
Our intention was to celebrate the entire history of KISS and give credit to all members including long time present members Tommy Thayer and Eric Singer, and additionally Bruce Kulick and Eric Carr all who have made this band what it is, regardless of the Rock And Roll Hall Of Fame’s point of view.
Although KISS has moved forward far longer without them, Ace and Peter are at the very foundation of what we have built and this would all be impossible had they not been a part of it in the beginning.
It is over 13 years since the original lineup has played together in make-up and we believe the memory of those times would not be enhanced. Contrary to claims made through the media we have never refused to play with Ace and Peter.
We have spent 40 years dedicated to building KISS without quitting or wavering as the band has moved forward with huge tours and platinum albums through different important lineups for forty years, to this day.
KISS has always been a band unlike any other. That is why we started KISS. That is why we continue KISS. Being unlike other bands also means making choices and decisions unlike other bands.
This is understandably an emotional situation where there is no way to please everyone.
To bring this to a quick end, we have decided not to play in any line-up and we will focus our attention on celebrating our induction into the Rock And Roll Hall Of Fame.
We are excited and are looking forward to seeing you all on the KISS 40th Anniversary worldwide tour.”

While the statement is carefully worded to say “…Contrary to claims made through the media we have never refused to play with Ace and Peter…”, it does not at any point suggest that Ace and Peter were INVITED by G&P, and they were turned down, either.
In any event, it doesn’t matter – the RNRHOF has been a joke almost since inception.
well gene simmons always said that the fans are the bosses so if we are,we demand them to play with the original lineup 1 last time.make it happen!
I still say it’s a joke…grown men that can’t put aside their differences for one day , Glad I’m a Rush fan .

The R&R Hall of Shame has brought this debacle upon themselves. Eddie has already documented that had the joke system of getting in inducted KISS their first year of eligibility fifteen years ago all original four members were in the band. But they are a joke of a hall of fame for anything.
So they finally inducted them this year. The act of only inducting the original four was and ONLY WAS to try and get a reunion performance. Why? Could it be the first arena induction ceremony that they need to sell 10K tickets to? Maybe? You think?
If they really were coming to their senses and inducting KISS this year to start making things right with the hall they should’ve had all living members inducted and invited to jam together without make-up. Maybe jam one song from each decade and everyone goes home happy. But the hall never does anything right, especially to our beloved gene of music, the best selling and most beloved genre of music on the planet.
Don’t be surprised if the clowns running this sham of a hall of fame put their tails between their legs and go back to all parties and offer to have them all play together anyway they can all agree too.
If not good luck to the hall guy who has to tell the folks at HBO they’ll be airing the Yusuf Islam/Hall & Oates Jam in may!
Paul & Gene = Losers. I go back to what Eddie said before about them spending the last 10 years selling this current version of the band, and an original line up performance would throw it all out the window. They were scared of where they would be after. Please end this version of the band. I always hoped for an unplugged non make up thing as they got older.
