KISS have released a statement on their official website addressing the Rock Hall induction. Here is what it states:
“To All Our Fans In Regards To The Rock and Roll Hall of Fame:
Out of respect, Ace and Peter’s recent statements demand a quick response to you, our fans.
Our intention was to celebrate the entire history of KISS and give credit to all members including long time present members Tommy Thayer and Eric Singer, and additionally Bruce Kulick and Eric Carr all who have made this band what it is, regardless of the Rock And Roll Hall Of Fame’s point of view.
Although KISS has moved forward far longer without them, Ace and Peter are at the very foundation of what we have built and this would all be impossible had they not been a part of it in the beginning.
It is over 13 years since the original lineup has played together in make-up and we believe the memory of those times would not be enhanced. Contrary to claims made through the media we have never refused to play with Ace and Peter.
We have spent 40 years dedicated to building KISS without quitting or wavering as the band has moved forward with huge tours and platinum albums through different important lineups for forty years, to this day.
KISS has always been a band unlike any other. That is why we started KISS. That is why we continue KISS. Being unlike other bands also means making choices and decisions unlike other bands.
This is understandably an emotional situation where there is no way to please everyone.
To bring this to a quick end, we have decided not to play in any line-up and we will focus our attention on celebrating our induction into the Rock And Roll Hall Of Fame.
We are excited and are looking forward to seeing you all on the KISS 40th Anniversary worldwide tour.”

I tell you what they can go on with this “new” kiss all they want, but I’ll never get another penny outta me .their new music sucks. monster, sonic boom was horrible.
WHAT A BUNCH OF GROWN BABIES!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! FIGHTING LIKE KIDS AFTER ALL THESE YEARS ARE YOU KIDDING ME GROW UP AND ACT LIKE MEN.
After all the years of building this empire I wonder what Paul would say if the KISS lawmakers said oh by the way this is bobbaloo and he’s going to be wearing your make-up and posing as you onstage tonight and foreverafter. if it can happen to ace and peter it can happen to him- they are all replaceable except gene (according to the lord of rock) I think they should be realistic and understand that they are all still here to accept this honor on behalf of their fans- and should do it humbly without all the hub-bub regarding present members. Look I saw the sonic boom show at jones beach- my question is this- when is Kiss the Musical coming out? Kiss on Ice? How about donning the outfits from the Diplomat and come out and play a Kiss Show. Jones Beach was stupid gigantic. Not even bordering on ridiculous- it WAS ridiculous- no matter how big the show gets you can’t cover up a fake peter and ace or bad tunes. I love the old kiss- the original boys from NYC. They could always get mini-kiss to perform at least they’d be big about it!!!
Since when should Peter Criss and Ace Frehley command so much respect? What have these two knuckleheads contributed to this band in the last 32 years? Their performances were horrid during the reunion shows and they were on what? one song each on Psycho Circus. Peter is completely useless. If he did not get lucky with Beth(worst Kiss song ever) his contributions would be nothing. Sorry folks it’s better off they do not play. Unfortunately for Paul, who at one point was one of the greatest rock and roll singers ever, his voice is shot. Ace hits about one out every 5 notes correctly on his guitar solos. Peter was always a crappy drummer and probably cannot even lift a drum stick right now. Everybody, including Bruce Kulick and Vinnie Vincent, should be there to accept the award (even though the Rock and Roll Hall of Fame is a joke). But my god there is no way they could play, it would be a catastrophe.
as paul said thers no kiss without peter or ace, they get respect for that alone, ace is still one of the most influencual guitarest in the world, the peter thing you somewhat got a point there but he helped alot of drummers get started with his playing,i see him as stage one of rock drummers a goood learning point, but his endurance at one point was incredible on drums. i see you like hateing on people instead of likeing the good points of people.i would like to know the last gold lp you played on…..im waiting.
What have Peter and Ace contributed in the last 32 years.
Well they both played on a tour in the mid 90’s and then in 2000 something, they helped CREATE KISS, developed the ‘sound’ the raw energy and the songs and music.
I’d say Ace and Peter did quite a FREAKING LOT which kept KISS relevant for the last 32 years.
Got it now?
With all due respect John, while admittedly not a KISS fan, Paul Stanley being considered “one of the greatest rock and roll singers ever” is a gross, literally gross, in my humble opinion, overstatement.
What about my hero, the Metal God, Rob Halford? Ronnie James Dio? Sebastian Bach? Eric Martin? Geoff Tate? Ron Young? Even my other favorite, John Sykes, can out sing Stanley.
His voice must be an acquired taste, much like Cirque du Soleil. Frankly, I don’t get it and probably never will. I much prefer Gene’s voice to Paul’s.
Paul is the greatest front man ever !!!!
Sorry Brian, I don’t agree, and as I previously posted, I don’t think I ever will. But, to each their own.
kiss suxx. They should let someone else were gene’s wig and makeup and paul’s makeup, play their parts, sing their parts and let Ace Frehley and Peter Criss steal the show, which they would have done anyway. Peter and Ace 4EVER! Gene and Paul NEVER!
wig lol i was thinking the same thing…
Clean up isle 4..I agree you cant please everyone, unless of course all of you jammed out together on stage..Would that be so wrong??? That wou km d be ckassy, fair, and friken badass.. Just sayin…peace n love boys, ..Jaydawg..
i agree but i will say that if eric carr was still alive , things would be so diffrent right now, long live the live and music of eric carr, the only replecement besides bruce.with full kiss fans respect, cause he like bruse has class and a desire to be playing for the people and not just the hype.
This HOF induction was nothing more than a media opportunity for G&P to plug their upcoming tour with hired guns who ain’t getting paid squat… union wages. It means that G&P are banking it. Yeah, G&P wanted the current line-up to jam as a marketing ploy… not with Ace & Peter. Bad blood there as G&P stole royalties from A&P that they were due via legal wrangling. A&P have no intention of ever playing with G&P again unless they make things right.
