KISS RELEASE THEIR OWN STATEMENT REGARDING THE RNRHOF INDUCTION, BAND CLAIMS “WE NEVER REFUSED TO PLAY WITH ACE AND PETER”

kiss-return KISS have released a statement on their official website addressing the Rock Hall induction. Here is what it states:

“To All Our Fans In Regards To The Rock and Roll Hall of Fame:

Out of respect, Ace and Peter’s recent statements demand a quick response to you, our fans.

Our intention was to celebrate the entire history of KISS and give credit to all members including long time present members Tommy Thayer and Eric Singer, and additionally Bruce Kulick and Eric Carr all who have made this band what it is, regardless of the Rock And Roll Hall Of Fame’s point of view.

Although KISS has moved forward far longer without them, Ace and Peter are at the very foundation of what we have built and this would all be impossible had they not been a part of it in the beginning.

It is over 13 years since the original lineup has played together in make-up and we believe the memory of those times would not be enhanced. Contrary to claims made through the media we have never refused to play with Ace and Peter.

We have spent 40 years dedicated to building KISS without quitting or wavering as the band has moved forward with huge tours and platinum albums through different important lineups for forty years, to this day.

KISS has always been a band unlike any other. That is why we started KISS. That is why we continue KISS. Being unlike other bands also means making choices and decisions unlike other bands.

This is understandably an emotional situation where there is no way to please everyone.

To bring this to a quick end, we have decided not to play in any line-up and we will focus our attention on celebrating our induction into the Rock And Roll Hall Of Fame.

We are excited and are looking forward to seeing you all on the KISS 40th Anniversary worldwide tour.”

  1. “Contrary to claims made through the media we have never refused to play with Ace and Peter”…
Um, so why aren’t you playing with them? Thats bull. They knew they would get booed of the stage during the induction so they are covering their asses. All they had to do is play without makeup, 2 songs with Ace & Peter and 1 song with everyone. But this is the best result if the original 4 were not going to play.

  2. I will start by saying that I was a early fan of kiss and am still a fan…It disappoints me that this band has achieved so much from the days of the small New York club scene. Paul drove a cab here in New York and watched the hot chicks walk down 5th ave. which inspired the song Strutter. I remember all of it, I was There. I lived it, standing next to Paul at an Angel concert downtown on 14 th street, they were a band on the same label as Kiss. Remember Paul? Kiss is not about individuals it’s about characters that we have grown to like and Love the Music they put out. It doesn’t matter who plays the Catman or the Spaceman, I just want to stand up and clap my hands, cause that’s what rockin roll is all about…So please guys, put your differences to the side for this special night, step back into your characters and do what you do best…Perform!

  3. See Eddie, I told you Paul and Gene were going to be a-holes about this. You deleted my last post on your site when I said this is “why” it has taken so long for Kiss to be inducted into the RNRHOF -its because Paul and Gene are huge a-holes and they make everyone look stupid. Its about their egos, its not about the music and the fans.

  4. Such a bullshit situation. Peter and Ace would have probably loved to at least get together and play Rock and Roll All Nite with the original guys. Hell why not do what they did at their unplugged and have the original 4 play with Eric and Tommy now. Or shit, even better bring back Bruce too and have him join in. One big gigantic mini set if you will of a few songs. This bickering will never end but all members deserve the chance to play at this..even if the band can’t stand the HOF.
