KISS RELEASE THEIR OWN STATEMENT REGARDING THE RNRHOF INDUCTION, BAND CLAIMS “WE NEVER REFUSED TO PLAY WITH ACE AND PETER”

kiss-return KISS have released a statement on their official website addressing the Rock Hall induction. Here is what it states:

“To All Our Fans In Regards To The Rock and Roll Hall of Fame:

Out of respect, Ace and Peter’s recent statements demand a quick response to you, our fans.

Our intention was to celebrate the entire history of KISS and give credit to all members including long time present members Tommy Thayer and Eric Singer, and additionally Bruce Kulick and Eric Carr all who have made this band what it is, regardless of the Rock And Roll Hall Of Fame’s point of view.

Although KISS has moved forward far longer without them, Ace and Peter are at the very foundation of what we have built and this would all be impossible had they not been a part of it in the beginning.

It is over 13 years since the original lineup has played together in make-up and we believe the memory of those times would not be enhanced. Contrary to claims made through the media we have never refused to play with Ace and Peter.

We have spent 40 years dedicated to building KISS without quitting or wavering as the band has moved forward with huge tours and platinum albums through different important lineups for forty years, to this day.

KISS has always been a band unlike any other. That is why we started KISS. That is why we continue KISS. Being unlike other bands also means making choices and decisions unlike other bands.

This is understandably an emotional situation where there is no way to please everyone.

To bring this to a quick end, we have decided not to play in any line-up and we will focus our attention on celebrating our induction into the Rock And Roll Hall Of Fame.

We are excited and are looking forward to seeing you all on the KISS 40th Anniversary worldwide tour.”

  1. Let’s face it, if KISS is in the HOF because of what they did during the makeup years from 1975-1980. Their non-makeup years would never have gotten them signed to a record label in the 80’s. After Ace and Peter left KISS’ influence had waned immensely. When they finally took their makeup off, KISS was a nobody. The makeup coming off was a last ditch effort to stay alive because nobody cared anymore. They were able to keep their heads above water long enough to reunite with Ace and Peter in 1998, and then KISS exploded again. Once Ace and Peter leave again no one really cares about KISS anymore.

  2. Ever since they put Eric and Tommy in Ace and Peter’s make up and trying to re capture the same magic as before has only taken a one great band and has only caused more damage and disrespect to the lifetime KISS fans who just wanted one last time with the original line up, well no more and as far as im concerned I would rather remember KISS as they were and not as they are now and will not be purchasing anything further as i wont be putting out my money on a tribute band.

  3. it really is a true shame and travisty that the 4 original members of KISS will not be playing at the induction….I have been a fan since 73 and i have loved all the combos of members of KISS but the reality is i grew up loving the original members …I remember telling my mom that ace wanted to go to the moon before he died and my mom saying she will gladly send him there to get rid of hearing that music …..its one of my fondest memories of KISS and my mom god rest her soul…..Gene and Paul need to come off their high horse and do the right thing…..they always said they didnt care about the HOF so do this for your fans ….Tim
