KISS have released a statement on their official website addressing the Rock Hall induction. Here is what it states:
“To All Our Fans In Regards To The Rock and Roll Hall of Fame:
Out of respect, Ace and Peter’s recent statements demand a quick response to you, our fans.
Our intention was to celebrate the entire history of KISS and give credit to all members including long time present members Tommy Thayer and Eric Singer, and additionally Bruce Kulick and Eric Carr all who have made this band what it is, regardless of the Rock And Roll Hall Of Fame’s point of view.
Although KISS has moved forward far longer without them, Ace and Peter are at the very foundation of what we have built and this would all be impossible had they not been a part of it in the beginning.
It is over 13 years since the original lineup has played together in make-up and we believe the memory of those times would not be enhanced. Contrary to claims made through the media we have never refused to play with Ace and Peter.
We have spent 40 years dedicated to building KISS without quitting or wavering as the band has moved forward with huge tours and platinum albums through different important lineups for forty years, to this day.
KISS has always been a band unlike any other. That is why we started KISS. That is why we continue KISS. Being unlike other bands also means making choices and decisions unlike other bands.
This is understandably an emotional situation where there is no way to please everyone.
To bring this to a quick end, we have decided not to play in any line-up and we will focus our attention on celebrating our induction into the Rock And Roll Hall Of Fame.
We are excited and are looking forward to seeing you all on the KISS 40th Anniversary worldwide tour.”

Smart move. HOF should have inducted thirteen years ago.
There’s no way KISS would be able to set up a show that represents KISS and leave enough time for the other bands to soundcheck!
Guess I should be a happy as a fan of the original Heart that they at least did one tune at the induction. KISS shouldn’t even show up – that would be a great middle finger to the RRHOF.
I agree with Bill Brooklyn : not only did they fail to mention anything about Vinnie Vincent & Mark St. John . It is sad to see after 40 year’s of rocking & making great music , all that it really come’s down to once again is MONEY !!!! if they don’t want Ace & Peter to play then they should be allowed to play in an all star band again . I have loved KISS from the beginning through the good time’s & the bad time’s . it’s interesting how after all of these year’s you can’t set aside your difference’s . Yes it began with the 4 of you , but there is a lot more band member’s involved than just the current lineup !! It’s time for Gene & Paul to wake up & stop thinking about the damn money .there still is time to set aside your difference’s & get along for one night for the fan’s !! Because without the fan’s you would be nothing .
Holy Crap…EPIC FAIL! What are G&P thinking. The fans are definitely the losers here. No disrespect to the other inductees but KISS were the main event…now…not so much. I am a huge KISS fan. But this is a slap in the face. Tommy and Eric Singer are great additions to the band, they’re great musicians. But why can’t the band just get it together for a couple of hours. Is KISS going to accept the induction for Eric Carr?!!! He was in the band for 11 years. I believe that had he not passed away he would still be in the band. His tenure stated in July 1980, that’s well beyond the 25 year minimum for eligibility. G&P, DO NOT DISREPECT ERIC CARR and his contributions to this band!
It’s too bad that Gene and Paul don’t remember the most important aspect of the band’s history. Their fans. I stopped being a KISS fan once Ace and Peter were ousted. I have nothing against any other past or present KISS band members. But in my personal opinion the original lineup is was the band I liked. They should do it if only to honor the fans that made them the Hottest Band in the Land way back when they use to be a great band.
