KISS have released a statement on their official website addressing the Rock Hall induction. Here is what it states:
“To All Our Fans In Regards To The Rock and Roll Hall of Fame:
Out of respect, Ace and Peter’s recent statements demand a quick response to you, our fans.
Our intention was to celebrate the entire history of KISS and give credit to all members including long time present members Tommy Thayer and Eric Singer, and additionally Bruce Kulick and Eric Carr all who have made this band what it is, regardless of the Rock And Roll Hall Of Fame’s point of view.
Although KISS has moved forward far longer without them, Ace and Peter are at the very foundation of what we have built and this would all be impossible had they not been a part of it in the beginning.
It is over 13 years since the original lineup has played together in make-up and we believe the memory of those times would not be enhanced. Contrary to claims made through the media we have never refused to play with Ace and Peter.
We have spent 40 years dedicated to building KISS without quitting or wavering as the band has moved forward with huge tours and platinum albums through different important lineups for forty years, to this day.
KISS has always been a band unlike any other. That is why we started KISS. That is why we continue KISS. Being unlike other bands also means making choices and decisions unlike other bands.
This is understandably an emotional situation where there is no way to please everyone.
To bring this to a quick end, we have decided not to play in any line-up and we will focus our attention on celebrating our induction into the Rock And Roll Hall Of Fame.
We are excited and are looking forward to seeing you all on the KISS 40th Anniversary worldwide tour.”

I’m 52 years old and have been a KISS fan of all the lineups. I say allor nothing. okay time to listen to some TESLA.
Kiss fans love to hear themselves whine……dont go see kiss..burn all your albums and cds and kiss felated items…..tired of hearing how gene and paul owe us something……they kept kiss going and deserve all the good things that come with it…..its their livelihood just like us who scoop up the overtime at work..more money. Bring all past members on stage with a huge video cllage of their history and give them awards and be done with it. Tired of hearing about poor ace and.peter….they are.the.ones who nearlh destroyed kiss……….wake up!

I call BS. Paul Stanley made it crystal clear on Twitter about three weeks ago that he had NO interest in playing with Ace or Peter. None whatsoever.
Gene announced to a few sources he was fine playing with them at the induction when it was announced.
Now he and Gene are back peddling trying to do major damage control. This not wanting to play came from Paul Stanley.
Gene and Paul both act like if they were to play in makeup that it wouldn’t enhance their being together 13 years ago. What a load of crap.
I still stand by the fact that the fans want this one last time little reunion. Why not play together in makeup for the last time? A couple of songs, then play with the other current members accoustically for a couple of songs?
Then everyone would pretty much be happy. Well, except Paul.
Probably everyone of the Kiss lineup should’ve been inducted but they weren’t so maybe this is where we should throw the HOF under the bus.
Despite who made what decision, Paul and Gene should grow up and put on a good show for the fans and for Ace and Peter who got P&G to where they are today.
Of course it reads as if a lawyer wrote it. That’s one of the perks of being successful to be able to have someone else do the work for you. That doesn’t bother me. In my mind, KISS is spitting in the face of those in charge of running the rock n roll hall of fame. They waited how long to induct them?
Btw, the Greatful Dead are horrible.
Thanks!
I sit here and read all these ridiculous responses to Gene & Paul’s counter-response and it absolutely kills me. Does each and every so-called KISS fan spouting this nonsense forget that Gene & Paul gave Ace & Peter multiple chances to get their acts together after they were intially dismissed from KISS, and yet they still could not control and eliminate the substance abuses that caused them to be dropped from the lineup. Yes, KISS has become a marketing machine, for good or bad, but still to put all the blame on Gene & Paul’s shoulders without turing some of the spotlight on Ace & Peter for the split and negativity is crazy!! To all of us, the tru KISS fans, the original lineup will always be our holy grail and never forgotten for the years of great music that KISS gave us, but to this day after the death of he bset drummer KISS ever had in Eric Carr, and the quality time that Kulick provided KISS, they still do the same with Tommy & Eric S……keep on rocking boys!! Don’t let the door hit all the other complainers in the rear on the way out. Peace!!
