IRON MAIDEN FRONTMAN, BRUCE DICKINSON, EMBARKS ON A SPOKEN WORD TOUR STARTING JANUARY 17TH IN FLORIDA

Greg Prato of Heavy Consequence reports:

Iron Maiden singer Bruce Dickinson is set to embark on a spoken word tour of North America. The extensive outing, dubbed An Evening with Bruce Dickinson, totals 44 shows.

Startinf on January 17th in Ft. Lauderdale, Florida, the set of dates wraps up on March 30th in Kitchener, Ontario, with tickets available now via Ticketmaster. In advance of the tour’s launch, the metal icon spoke with Heavy Consequence via video Zoom…

…As Dickinson tells us, his spoken word show is for everyone, not just Iron Maiden fanatics. “It’s not actually aimed at [the diehard fan], because it’s actually quite broad,” he explains. “We’re talking about everything from going barracuda fishing with a mercenary in Sierra Leone, to getting over cancer, to climbing up mountains in Sarajevo through landmines, to the first time I ever sung, to the first time I decided I didn’t want to be a drummer. All kinds of stuff like that…”

…As far as his philosophical approach, Dickinson remarks, “We’ve got some merch, and one of the shirts has a catchphrase or saying that I started using in the show: ‘Life is better than all the other options.’ And that, I suppose along with ‘’What does this button do?,’ is probably as close as you’re going to get to the philosophy of … me.”

In addition to his own tour, Dickinson will also hit the road with Iron Maiden for a new North American leg of the band’s Legacy of the Beast Tourin September. Those tickets are available here.
