GUNS N’ ROSES SUES COLORADO BAR OVER ROSÉ ALE

According to Hollywood Reporter, Guns N’ Roses is suing a Colorado brewery for its Guns ‘N’ Rosé ale, claiming it infringes on the legendary rock band’s trademark and suggests the group is somehow connected to the product…

…Guns N’ Roses says the brewery has been selling the rosé ale in canned and keg form since 2018, as well as other merchandise bearing the brew’s name. The brewery filed an application to register Guns N Rosé as a trademark last August, which prompted the band’s business manager to reach out and attempt to resolve the dispute. According to the complaint, the brewery refused to stop selling the beer and related merchandise but did abandon its trademark application.

The band is asking the court to bar the brewery from making or selling the Guns ‘N’ Rosé ale, and deliver to them for destruction any merchandise or promotional material bearing the mark. They’re also seeking compensatory and punitive damages.

Oskar Blues Brewery has not yet responded to a request for comment on the complaint.

    1. Before you know it, marijuana will be legal in every state. Well, at least Cheech and Chong will be happy! 😉

  1. Remember when music had a certain freedom to it? It was also rebellious. Now we’re supposed to care about this nonsense. No more devil may care attitude when you can sue somebody. Axl Rose is not a nice person so if someone exploits his brand and makes some money then good for that person. Look how Axl treats Steven Adler ( also a bad guy ). Nah, nobody should care. Is this beer any good? Will it take me down to paradise city? The bass player seems like a good person. I’m certain there will never be a SUICIDAL TENDENCIES ALE? Imagine that. Is TESLA suing the auto maker? Is the estate of the actual guy named Tesla suing them both. I have to tell you, WHITE LION ALE sounds pretty cool. DOKKEN BACK FOR THE ATTACK album cover on a beer label would also be awesome. Imagine drinking VINNY VINCENT INVASION ALE and then failing in show up for a scheduled appointment. CARMINE APPICE APPLE CIDER ALE?
