Rock and Roll Hall of Fame inductee Glenn Hughes announces his retirement from touring and live performances.
Upon his doctor’s advice, Glenn will have to undergo heart surgery and has made the difficult decision to step back from live performances for the foreseeable future.
“This past year, I’ve had some health issues. The results from numerous MRIs, CT scans, and an echocardiogram have alerted my medical team, that I need another open-heart surgery. I really have no option and no choice as health is my number one priority. Grateful to have been chosen with a life full with the gift of music… Thank you for walking beside me.” – Your friend Glenn
As a result, The Purple Daisies featuring Glenn Hughes will no longer be appearing at The Canyon Club in Agoura Hills, California on October 2nd, 2026.

Glenn Hughes is awesome. “Soul Mover, Darkstar, She Moves Ghostly” are 3 favs from the ‘Soul Mover’ album 2005 (with Chad Smith/Dave Navarro and of course JJ Marsh)
Bummer! Hope he’s okay and his surgery is a success. Sad that we’ll not be getting any new black Country Communion, but grateful for all the great music he’s been a part of for all my life.
This guy is a freak of nature and it’s sad to see him have to retire.
