DRUMMER FRED COURY SAID HE, AND BASSIST ERIC BRITTINGHAM, WOULD LOVE TO DO A CINDERELLA REUNION TOUR

Former Cinderella drummer Fred Coury was a guest on Eddie‘s Sirius XM show, Trunk Nation With Eddie Trunk, on July 29th. Excerpts from the interview appear below via blabbermouth.net.

When asked if he has any desire to go back on the road as part of a Cinderella reunion of all the surviving members of the band. (Guitarist Jeff LaBar died in July 2021 at his apartment in Nashville.) Coury replied, “Yes… It’s funny that I’ve turned out to be this studio guy, and I’ve just been playing on so many records. It’s been great, and I play every day. And I’m ready. So I do wanna go out and play. I do wanna tour again.

I was speaking to Eric [BrittinghamCinderella bassist] — I talk to Eric all the time — and we’re both ready, when Tom [KeiferCinderella frontman] says, ‘Let’s do it.’ And time’s running out. Everybody’s getting older, so… And then, unfortunately, Tom had this setback [earlier this week when the last three shows of his 2026 solo tour were canceled after he ‘completely’ lost his singing voice due to ‘a severe vocal muscle strain/injury’]. So, yes, to answer your question, I do wanna go out and tour again, but it’s gotta be big. And will it be with Cinderella? I don’t know. The door’s not closed on that. We never broke up. Can we all do it? Absolutely. Are we ready? Ready when Tom is. Yeah, we’ll do it. And if it’s not them, then I’ll go out with somebody else.”

He continued, “I would love it, and I think the fans would love it,” he said. “And [Tom is] out there playing Cinderella songs anyway [with his solo band]. So, [he can] do it with the [original Cinderella] guys, and give the fans something, and then go back to doing his band, which he’s happy as a clam up there. So that’s the main thing, is he’s so happy with his [solo] band, and they’re all nice guys, and there’s that. So that’s where the pull for him is, is I don’t think he wants to screw those guys over. But I don’t think he would be because a Cinderella reunion] would be kind of just like a one-time thing. We’ll see.”

  1. I think it would be great if Cinderella toured again. I’d love to see them again, only saw them once prior. Dunno who they’d get to replace Jeff Labar on guitar, though.

Or could this turn out to be a Brett Michaels/Poison issue?

  2. I had the chance to see Cinderella in their prime when they opened for Diamond Dave during the Eat ‘em and Smile Tour ’86, and when they opened for AC/DC Blow Up Tour Video Tour in 1988. They really rocked and deserved a longer set. Last I saw or heard of Tom Kiefer was when he has talked with Eddie on TMS and his Sirius shows. I’d check them out.

  3. Yep, same here, saw them in ’86 at MSG opening for DLR, that was a party! So tragic that Labar died from a heart attack at only 58 I believe, he can and never will be replaced, but hopefully Tom, Eric, and Fred can find another guitarist that fits their style, and hopefully soon! Remember, we only go Once Around The Ride…
