LEGENDARY GUITARIST MICHAEL SCHENKER ANNOUNCES SPRING NORTH AMERICAN TOUR

michaelshenck400 Few rock guitarists have as impressive a resume as Michael Schenker does – as he has supplied his six-string talents to such world-renowned acts as the Scorpions, UFO, and the Michael Schenker Group over the years. And it is now confirmed that Schenker will be touring North America come the spring, in support of his killer new disc, Spirit on a Mission, released on March 24th.

Michael Schenker’s Temple of Rock line-up proves to be one of the strongest that the German guitarist has ever played with, as it features the former Scorpions Rock You Like A Hurricane rhythm section of Francis Buchholz (bass) and Herman Rarebell (drums), as well as Doogie White (vocals, formerly of Rainbow), and Wayne Findlay (guitar/keyboards, and longtime Michael Schenker Group member).

The tour begins March 25th at the Rockbar Theater in San Jose, CA (the day after the release of Spirit on a Mission), and wraps up on May 2nd at the Canyon Club in Agoura Hills, CA (with special guest Don Dokken on the bill). In between, the tour will go coast to coast, including a performance at the Gramercy Theatre in NYC on April 15th.

“Promotion is definitely the next step,” says Schenker of hitting the road in support of Spirit on a Mission. “Wherever we are needed around the world, we will be there to promote [the album]. I want to make Temple of Rock its own entity. Right now it is still using the Michael Schenker platform but eventually I want it to stand on its own feet as Temple of Rock.” To get a taste of the new line-up, view the video for the song Vigilante Man here.

Undoubtedly, this set of North American dates are the first step towards establishing Michael Schenker’s Temple of Rock as a global force.

SWEET & LYNCH PREMIERE SECOND VIDEO, “DYING ROSE,” FROM THEIR UPCOMING DEBUT “ONLY TO RISE”

georgelynchmsweet.jpg Sweet & Lynch are releasing another video from their upcoming debut album, Only To Rise. The video is for the song Dying Rose and premiered yesterday at GuitarWorld.com. Watch it below.

Dying Rose is the perfect representation of this album. It’s heavy yet dynamic with a riff and melody that reminds you of the greatest era in rock. George and I are proud of this song and excited that you all have the opportunity to finally hear it in it’s entirety and to see it as well!” exclaims Michael Sweet.

Only To Rise is scheduled for release in the United States on January 27th, 2015 through Froniters Music SRL. Backing up Sweet & Lynch on this new musical adventure is bassist James Lomenzo and drummer Brian Tichy.

Sweet & Lynch recently launched a pre-order for the new album via PledgeMusic. The pre-order features various bundle packages for fans and is live at pledgemusic.com/projects/sweetlynch. The album is also available Amazon. Fans who pre-order the album through iTunes will receive instant downloads of Dying Rose, The Wish and September with their order.

From the opening notes of The Wish to the drum solo finish on the album-closer Only To Rise, it is evident that this musical partnership between Michael Sweet’s unmistakable voice and George Lynch’s signature guitar tone has yielded incredible results. Songs Dying Rose, Me Without You and Strength In Numbers showcase the diversity that permeates throughout the entire album. Only To Rise was produced by Michael Sweet who also produced the last Stryper album, No More Hell To Pay, which received massive fan praise and critical acclaim alike.

Plans are currently being worked out for Sweet & Lynch to play a few live shows in the Spring of next year, making this different than any other supergroups that record together but never play live. More information will be announced in the near future. If the past records of these four musicians are any indication, no fan will want to miss these shows.

MOTLEY CRUE TO PLAY THEIR FINAL SHOW EVER ON NEW YEAR’S EVE IN LOS ANGELES, ALSO RELEASE NEW SINGLE CALLED “ALL BAD THINGS”

motleycrue640 Mike Ayers of The Wall Street Journal reports:

Motley Crue, best known for ’80s hits like Girls, Girls, Girls and Dr. Feelgood, will play their final show at the Staples Center in Los Angeles on December 31st, 2015. The show will cap their last and final tour, which started in 2014 with a much publicized signing of a binding legal document that promised they’d never reunite after 2015. Alice Cooper will support most of the 2015 final tour dates.

“We’ve been talking about where we’re at for a few years,” Motley Crue bassist Nikki Sixx tells Speakeasy. “[We asked] when is the time to take our heavy-weight belt off? When’s the time to not stay too long as a rock band?”

Sixx says the band hit a few speed-bumps during the 2014 tour and have course-corrected for their remaining shows. Throughout last summer, they found themselves switching between arenas and outdoor amphitheaters, the latter of which couldn’t sustain their elaborate pyrotechnic set-up and drummer Tommy Lee‘s “Drum Roller-coaster.” The plan for this year is to be only in arenas, which can give fans the proper show.

Though these might be the last times fans can see the band live, Sixx says that there could be some releases in the future. “We’d probably look at that five or six years down the line. Time’s an interesting thing. We’re going to be recording [these concerts]. There’s a possibility for a live DVD of the show. We’re talking about a documentary. There’s a lot of Motley Crue coming.”

Along with announcing their final tour, the band released a new single today called All Bad Things (listen below). They played it a handful of times during 2014 and it’s going to be included on an upcoming release that promises to be the “ultimate collector’s album.” This week, they’re also giving away their 2009 “Greatest Hits” album for free via Google Play.

Sixx says the final shows will be bittersweet and he’s looking forward to the next chapter – but knows that some Crue fans might be having a hard time letting go. “Somebody held up a sign that said ‘Enjoy your retirement.’ And I thought f–ck, i’m not going to start golfing!” It’s going to open our schedules up. We’re going to walk away with our pride. And we’re going to feel honor. But it’s going to give [us] an opportunity to do other stuff too.

“Motley Crue was the mothership,” he adds. “It’s so much of your life, you can’t remember life without it.”
