1/25: GREETINGS FROM NAMM IN ANAHEIM

Greetings from my first ever NAMM here in non sunny CA. I’m about to head into the Expo area for the first time in a few minutes. I’ll be at the Samson booth, which will be my home base, today at Noon. Just about every musician I have ever known is here. Just amazing! Tons of friends and TMS fans EVERYWHERE. o grateful for all the amazing love and support for my shows. Today should be pretty crazy.I’ll be tweeting as much as I can next 2 days from the NAMM floor so be sure to follow.

The Dee Snider roast was a blast last night. Hope you caught it on AXS TV. Lot of great barbs tossed around all in great fun and Dee was a great sport. Thanks to Revolver & Guitar World for having me as a part of it. Again, SO many people hard to write about here. Also caught the tale end of the Bonzo Bash, which is a real cool drum tribute to John Bonham headed by the great Brian Tichy. Really really cool concept! I hear many more shows are coming for this including on the east coast so you will be hearing more about it soon.

Also saw Frank Hannon’s solo band for the first time. Also really good.

I know who the new Whitesnake drummer is, most will be happy.

More changes in the Tate Queensryche. Blotzer and Drover out, Robert Sarzo and Simon Wright in from what I am hearing. Both Tate and other version of Ryche were at the roast last night but non Tate version bailed. Geoff told me KK Downing will be on his Queensryche album as a guest. The drama in this situation is pretty nuts to say the least.

More from NAMM as I can post. Keep up to the second @EddieTrunk on Twiter.

Q104 show all new tonight at 11P ET, just not live.

1/22: HEADED TO L.A. FOR NAMM, TMS, MORE!

Look forward to escaping the crazy cold here in NJ and heading to L.A. tomorrow to attend my first ever NAMM event. My activities start Thursday at the Dee Snider roast at The Grove in Anaheim. I’ll be doing some red carpet interviews and also be on the dais to roast Dee and no doubt be roasted back! Should be a blast. After the roast I’ll do some late night hosting at the Bonzo Bash at The Observatory in Anaheim with a who’s who of elite drummers jamming on Zeppelin. Should get there around 11:30. By the way the Dee roast is live on AXS TV starting at 9PM Pacific time Thursday.

Friday & Saturday I will be at the NAMM event and various functions. Look for me at the Samson/Zoom booth signing and saying hello to all at various times TBA each day. Follow on Twitter and I’ll let you know when I’m there. Also will have tons of coverage on Twitter as well as lots of exclusive content here for the site when I return.

Q104 radio show Friday is all new, but not live.

Thanks for all the response on the coming return of That Metal Show. Guests, tape dates, tickets, location all TBA, but will be in April sometime.

The sequel to my first book coming in Sept! You can get the current book signed from me by clicking the link on the banner on this site. Non signed copies available anywhere books are sold and also via Itunes.

1/18: THAT METAL SHOW 2013 UPDATE

Great news today as VH1 Classic has officially ordered another season of That Metal Show! Many have asked about when new shows would be coming and to be honest we were wondering soon. As I have said many times, VH1 owns and controls the show and makes all decisions as to when, where and how we do it. Got the notice today and we will be doing all new episodes sometime in April that I imagine will start airing shortly after. Very early in the process and no details yet, but will keep you all posted as to where and when the shows tape, guests, and how to get tickets when I know. Appreciate all your support and good to know more TMS is on the way! More when I know and can share.

1/17: SCOTT IAN LIVE ON Q104.3 SHOW FRIDAY

Live show tomorrow night at 11PM ET on Q104.3 NYC. Anthrax guitarist Scott Ian will join me live to discuss the bands upcoming tour with Exodus, new covers album “Anthems”, the bands latest lineup change, and the Dee Snider roast we will both be a part of next Thursday in L.A. I’ll also play the new Anthrax cover of the Rush classic Anthem for the first time. In addition I’ll have copies of the new Metallica Quebec Magnetic DVD for giveaway and much more. You can hear this show live on Q104.3 NYC or via the free iheartradio app and streaming free at www.q1043.com The show airs on all affiliates next weekend usual day and time. Hope you can join me live 11P-2A ET tomorrow night for Eddie Trunk Rocks, music & talk that ROCKS!

PS: Note to my audience in NYC on Q104.3, although this station labels my show Friday Night Rocks, it has actually always been called Eddie Trunk Rocks on a national level since the show airs many places not on Friday nights. It’s the same show you have always heard, but the national name is “Eddie Trunk Rocks”.

If in the L.A. area I will be at NAMM starting next Thursday. Schedule of where I will be will be posted here and also on Twitter. Hope to see you if going! Next Thursday I’ll be a part of the Dee Snider roast and then hosting Bonzo Bash.

I HAVE NO NEWS YET FROM VH1 ON NEW EPISODES TAPING OF THAT METAL SHOW. AS SOON AS I DO I WILL POST, THANKS!
