  1. Ok so that isnt Phil on drums in this video . I suppose he is out of the band as a lot of us has suspected for awhile now , i just wish AC/DC would at least address this situation already . I for hate the Phil is out , but just announce it already

    1. The video was shot last month…the band had already announced at that time that he would not be making the video shoot. As of now Phil is still in the band, still scheduled to be on tour. We will see if that holds up, but something tells me (just a hunch) that he will be on stage when AC/DC hits it next year.

    2. David, I hope you are right but my hunch is just the opposite regarding Phil. I don’t think he will be there when the tour kicks off. I think they are going to go with Bob Richards. But time will tell. AC/DC has always been reluctant to announce line up changes.

I think the fact that they released a band photo without Phil speaks volumes. My feeling is that Phil was sent home from the video shoot because he wasn’t in shape either physically or mentally. Because if you notice in the video, Bob isn’t using Phil’s Sonor drums.

Also, the November 27th court date will probably determine a lot. The charges could be such that New Zealand may not allow him to travel.

    3. Harry, I think Phil is fine. Now I’m not saying that he hasn’t gotten himself in some trouble to deal with, but like I’ve posted before…him and the police in his hometown have a real bad relationship. They have clearly bordered on “harassment” of him in the past if you read some of the stories…and he has been exonerated every time. Even the district attorney (or the equivalent in New Zealand) said the charges about procuring a murder were bogus and should have never been filed. Lol, they were dropped in one day!

Yes, the drug stuff is stupid but not unexpected. And the “threat” charge will more than likely be either dismissed or pleaded down to next to nothing, so I don’t see any reason why Phil would not be with the band. He just released a solo album (which is damn good by the way) and he shows no signs of being in bad health except that he kind of looks like hell lol. But that would describe a lot of rockers. AC/DC doesn’t much march to the tune of other bands…they are very private, they don’t announce anything until the last minute, and my hunch is that Phil will be with them when they start the tour, and in typical AC/DC fashion, they will say little or nothing about it.

    4. David, I hope you are right. I would love to see Phil behind the drums when the tour opens in 2015.

    1. We shall see, but since I’ve only heard one song I’m not passing judgment yet. Sometimes it takes a few listens to decide…I agree with Eddie on that point as you will see that he often reserves his comments on an album until he has a chance to listen to the whole thing.

  2. The reason Phil wasn’t in the video was supposedly family problems. That is what the explanation was at the time . We are all guessing it was the reasons we have all read about . Whether Phil is out for good I guess we will know when they have made that decision . Until all this legal crap is handled who knows. If he is or isn’t in won’t stop them from touring. They have already said that. The guy in the video will take on those responsibilities from what I read if Phil is out.

  3. The video isn’t their best effort, but WTF what other band could still be making kick ass rock and roll and announcing a World Tour next year at their ages? Lol, AC/DC remains one of the two or three bands in the world (and that includes bands and artists on the charts now) who can sell out big venues without any help. They still make quality music and I have no doubt that their tour will be fantastic. I miss Malcolm in his usual spot on Brian’s right though…feel really bad that he isn’t with them.
