Album of the year in my book!!!! Epic AIC!!!
This bands ability to appeal to both Metal and Grunge fans at the same time is admirable.
I always thought AIC’s sound was skewed more towards metal than grunge, they always had more “crunch” than Nirvana, Pearl Jam, Soundgarden, etc. The people who criticize them now without Layne Staley need to wake up. Layne’s gone and he’s never coming back. I admire them for picking themselves up and carrying on, they’re too good to just walk away. I’m also glad William DuVall isn’t a Layne impersonator, he’s bringing his own sound and style to the band, and to me at least avoids the whole comparison to Layne argument. Rock music in 2014 is better for having AIC on the scene than not.
