RIP Lee Kerslake. Lee was a member of Uriah Heep and a key part of the first two Ozzy solo albums, playing drums of both. I had a chance to meet Lee a couple years ago in CA when he was awarded at the Heavy Metal awards show I host each year. At that time he was battling cancer amazingly bravely. His spirit and attitude was incredible. A really kind gracious man that I was lucky to spend that day with. RIP Lee, condolences to his family and friends.
Great drummer, and it sounds like he was a really great person as well. Happy for him that he (finally) received his platinum records for Blizzard and Diary, better late than never. RIP Lee.
Monster drummer and was one of my favorites as a kid with Uriah Heep……saw them open for KISS in Des Moines in the late 70’s….
