A message to the loyal fans of That Metal Show from Eddie, Jim & Don:
We are sorry to report that VH1 Classic will not continue to make any new episodes of That Metal Show. It has been an incredible run of eight years, roughly 125 episodes and some really cool specials. The global response to TMS has been simply amazing, and we will be eternally grateful for the support from the rock and metal fans that have showed us so much love. We truly would have never made it as long as we did without you! A huge thanks also to the great crews we had over the years both in NYC and Los Angeles, to our producer Jeff Baumgardner, and to all the executives at VH1. And finally, thanks to the hundreds of artists that joined us on our set, had fun with us, shared their stories and many, many laughs. From the biggest names in rock history, to the up-and-comers: we thank you all for being a part of it.
Of course we very much want to keep That Metal Show alive, and with the blessing of VH1 Classic, we’ve got the keys to the show and are currently searching for a new home. We’re not sure where we’ll land, but we hope to be back in our studio and your living rooms as soon as possible. In the meantime, keep an eye out for us on the road and come say, “Hello.”
Thank you for watching all these years, and we’ll keep you posted as soon as we have news to share.

My buddy Jim and myself were lucky enough to be at the taping of last season’s finale, let’s hope it was not the series finale! We had a blast and it was great to see the show live. We are all hoping that another station is willing to pick up the show, there are no other shows out there dedicating to the genre of music we have all been brought up with, hard rock and heavy metal! We also saw the three of them when they came to Syracuse for their speaking tour, and had a lot of fun, although there were some terrible questions asked!
Well Eddie I have faith in ya you Don Jamieson And Jim Flourentine from Jersey and no body can keep any body from Jersey down long we are like bad pennies we keep turnin up
Eddie,
your a very respected rock/metal journalist and you seem like such a stand up guy, I hope they treated you honestly and fairly when they pulled the plug, as for your show I really enjoy your interviews and your passion for all things rock – to me that was the best thing about the show, stream it live from your living room you can do this stuff very easily these days i’ll bet metal fans would love it ! good luck forever eddie-
Eddie, thank you guys (Don and Jim too) for keeping the joy of Rock and Heavy Metal Music in my life! I was googling those iconic artists we have lost in the last few weeks and was curious if TMS was doing some tributes for upcoming episodes, and found your message this morning. I’m surely bummed, but I’ll pull for you guys to find the best home possible for your show. I’ll get in my car this morning, put in that CD, and play it loud! All the best!
Eddie,
Sad news for metal in general.
I hope to see the show return is some shape or form.
If not, thank you for eight great years. I always looked forward to TMS. It was such a fun show and will be missed.
So many great moments, but some that stick out are:
– Ronnie James Dio and Geezer Butler picking Carmine instead of Vinny Appice in the Throwdown.
– The amazing Dio tribute show in 2010.
– Lynch, Pilson, and Brown pointing at the “Tooth and Ale” sign in the studio, saying that should be their band name.
– Beat downs on Chris Jerhico when he failed to Stump the Trunk.
– Steven Adler incorrectly saying that CC Deville was in Stryper in Stump the Trunk.
– Slayer highjacking the Throwdown and making it a debate on the first two Maiden albums.
Thanks for a fun and informative show. Thanks also to Jim, Don, all the staff, Bumblefoot for providing the theme song, Miss Box of Junk Jennifer, and of course, the original Miss Box of Junk Kerry Leigh (RIP).
