11/10: WHITESNAKE, JAKE E. LEE, Y&T NYE, SNAKE PODCAST, ACE, MORE

Hope everyone had a great weekend. Not so great for me as a Giants fan but I knew in Seattle was a tall order.

Tonight’s SiriusXM show is pre recorded as I am hosting a benefit show tonight in NYC at Highline Ballroom for the military.

Great new Whitesnake DVD has been released of the band live in 1984. This show has been widely bootlegged but cool to have it in it’s best quality. What makes this so cool is it features a great lineup of the band with Neil Murray, the late Cozy Powell and John Sykes. Live footage with Sykes is so rare from Whitesnake since John was gone after the ’87 album was recorded. Still cool to see “Crying In the Rain” on here since it was originally on an earlier Whitesnake album. The audio mix isn’t always great with the guitar a bit low in the mix in the beginning but it is still cool to see this incredible lineup rocking 30 years ago. It’s available now as a two disc set. So many ask me what John is doing now. He completed a new album but I am not sure what his plans to release it are yet. Will keep you posted when I do. He is one of my favorite players and would be great to have new music from him. But check out this gem from the past in the meantime.

I’ll be at the Ace Frehley show this Thursday in NJ as he kicks off his Space Invader tour at The State Theater. Congrats to the many ticket winners that won by entering on this site through “ET’s Box Office” tab.

I’ll be hosting Jake E Lee’s Red Dragon Cartel 12/5 at Mexicali in Teaneck NJ. Be sure to enter to win for that one on the site also.

Just announced I’ll be spending NYE this year in San Jose at Rock Bar hosting Y&T. Should be a blast!

    1. Dallas is better than the Giants right now. I am a Giants fan but not delusional, we have 5 starters out for the year. Will still be fun to hopefully beat your ass in NJ in a couple weeks, ha!

    2. Oh Frank,

Your Bears are almost as bad as our Giants. 🙁 I think Culter may out of a job next season.

      Dana from ET.com 🙂

    3. Dana, They gave him 50 million guaranteed. How stupid was that? I get the feeling he doesn’t give a fxxk about the losing. His got the $, Kristin Cav, and the attitude.

    4. Frank,

Wow, I had no clue he had that kind of deal whether he plays or not, yikes. I agree that wasn’t the smartest decision by the Bears organization. On the plus side, you live in a great city 🙂

      Cheers,
      D 🙂

    5. Not so fast Cowboy Nation,

It’s November, usually the month when Romo starts his meltdown. I wouldn’t be too excited just yet. 😉

    1. He talked about it last time he called in to the show. He said he found out from one of his FRIENDS and then he called Sharon to ask her if it was true and she began to apologize profusely about not calling him sooner, etc., but it was true. Never any *real* reason given. But, Jake has also said in the past that that was around the time Ozzy was knee-deep in the Tribute album and nothing was going on with his solo stuff otherwise and Jake wanted to work.

Also, as Eddie has reminded us many times (and I agree), Ozzy/Sharon SCREWED Jake out of millions in royalties by not giving him his writing credits on Bark at the Moon. As far as the universe is concerned, Jake is owed a multi-million dollar check from the Osbournes.

    2. That’s messed up, if they screwed him out of that money. He needs to be compensated.
Those were two great albums and two great tours. I went to both. Crue opened for Bark at the Moon tour and Metallica for Ultimate.
BTW The Ultimate Sin is a great record to revisit , now that we are slipping back into a Cold War with Russia.

  1. Eddie, I was pulling for the Giants with #55 JD Walton playing for them now. I did ask him if he liked hard rock and metal and just as I thought he is a country boy.

  2. Eddie,
I’m curious how Ace’s shows are doing from a ticket sales standpoint. The Three Sides of the Coin podcast co-hosts are questioning how behind the curve Ace seems to be from a promotional standpoint for his own tour and how there has been so little in the way of social media, interviews, etc. to promote it. They are rooting for him, but wonder why additional tour dates on Ace’s website seem to be the last place to find them versus elsewhere. They also suggest that them speaking out on their podcast has been heard by his promotions team, as far as suggestions and updates, but they seem more reactive and not doing a good job for Ace’s tour. Any thoughts? It does seem like, unless you follow Ace religiously, you would not know Ace even has a tour.

    1. Good points…Aces website is the worst and up until just a few weeks ago, there was not even a whole lot of information on there about his dates… He has done some press that I have seen or heard but not nearly enough and nothing that I know of recently since his tour is starting so much later than when his album came out. His album is basically not in circulation at this point…

    2. I agree with you George, Ace’s website is horrible with updates and information! His Facebook page is much more current but, like somebody said, unless you’re a die-hard who’s checking out his Facebook page?

  3. I know it will never happen, but can’t help wonder what it might sound like if Sykes and Coverdale worked together again. Their styles really complimented each other very well.
