W.A.S.P. WILL PERFORM THEIR ENTIRE DEBUT ALBUM FROM START TO FINISH, ON THE 2024 ALBUM ONE ALIVE WORLD TOUR

The Album ONE Alive, the title of W.A.S.P.’s upcoming North American Tour. August 17th marks the 40th anniversary of the release of W.A.S.P.’s first album. To celebrate this classic metal album, W.A.S.P. will, for the first time in 40 years, play the entire album from top to bottom, start to finish, on their North American tour this fall.

Formed in 1982, W.A.S.P. is set to bring this universally acclaimed “classic” album to life. Lead vocalist Blackie Lawless says, “It was an angry record made by an angry band. It was a record that not only reflected the attitude of the band members who made it, but also a record that reflected its time.” This record became a central piece of the 80s metal scene and remains one of the best metal debut albums of all time.

Along with bassist Mike Duda and lead guitarist Doug Blair, whose tenures in the band are 29 and 26 years respectively, W.A.S.P. is joined by long-time drummer extraordinaire Aquiles Priester.

Lawless and company will deliver the ultimate incredible spectacle, bringing W.A.S.P.’s most colorful history to life by performing this revered album in its entirety… ONE more time… ONE last time… Album ONE Alive!

  1. Bands should have a disclaimer for the purchaser prior to sale that there will be backing tracks, prerecorded vocals etc, BY LAW. I don’t care how un-rock it seems its deception, misleading and criminal. Look how many tour dates and $$$ to be raked in from these tours. Lars Ulrich went on his soapbox to protect musicians but how about the fans? Some of these prices are outrageous and undeserved so fake bands can retire easy. If a fan knows that there going to hear prerecorded anything that’s on them but at least post a disclaimer

  2. IMO, kind of a weird pairing, WASP and Death Angel. I’d like to attend this show solely to see Death Angel. The heck with WASP, er, the Blackie Lawless show.

I saw WASP back in their club days, opening for Y&T. Great show! Lots of raw meat thrown by Blackie. WASP was the first band to be on the cover of Kerrang! magazine before a first album was ever released by the band.

  3. What would make this more interesting would be for Blackie to have Chris Holmes, Randy Piper and Tony Richards play the whole first album section of the show with him; whilst the current band plays all the other stuff.

It’s not going to happen I know, but, dare I say it, from a marketing point of view it would probably do good business. It does seem strange that the entire first album is going to be played in full without the band members that played on it not being on stage.

Given Chris’s recent health issues, if even for just one show, why not give the fans of W.A.S.P the chance to see the original line up one last time?

    1. DJH, it would be cool if the lineup that recorded the first album also performed it live on this 40th tour. As it is, Blackie won’t even be playing the same instrument on the 40th tour to celebrate the album as he did on the first album, where he played bass!

    2. Hi Rattlehead

Blackie didn’t play Bass he played “The tool of Ignorance” (Which is what he refers to the Bass as).

  4. The heck with W.A.S.P. and the Blackie show you say?….then brag about seeing them early and how they were on Kerrang?….ummmm…OK
Say what you want about Blackie, he at least admits he needs vocal help…. and most people are there for the stage show, much like KISS who would not admit they used tracks….

    1. Ramit, yes, the heck with Blackie. Back when I saw them, they were a band. Blackie could sing and the band was on fire, literally. WASP were four guys who functioned together to form what, IMO, WAS a great band. But that has all changed. It’s now the Blackie Lawless solo project, and has been for many, many years. Blackie became a narcissist. Blackie can no longer sing live and requires the use of backing tracks to perform. That may be okay with some people, but it’s not okay with me. I firmly believe a live performance should be live…warts and all. I don’t care how transparent the artist is on the matter, that does not mean I will overlook it and give the artist a “pass”. I’m sure some fans will, but I will not…..

And I’ve seen WASP perform three times back in the day. And me commenting that I’ve seen them perform is not “bragging”, as you claim. Rather, I’m sharing, with fellow posters, my attendance at gigs during the heydays of heavy metal…the 80’s. I was fortunate to see some bands in clubs before they became “big”, and I’m stoked that I did! I’m also stoked to learn about bands fellow posters saw back in the day. We’ll never experience a music movement like that ever again….so let’s celebrate it with each other.

    2. You’re quite the gentlemen, Rattlehead. Wished I ‘d seen them during those club days. I was stuck in Southern VA & NE TN Cheers, Brent Taskerofpuppets
