Of course, one cannot account for, whether or not, the band would sound great, the chemistry would gel, nor the quality of the songs. This is all about your favorites, teaming up. Additionally, your ultimate lineup may include anyone your heart desires, living, or sadly, deceased.
Singer: I cannot decide here, as there are many vocalists I really like so it could be: Ron Young, John Sykes, David Coverdale, Eric Martin, Robert Mason or Oni Logan.
Guitar: Randy Rhoads and John Sykes
Bass: Billy Sheehan
Drums: Cozy Powell
Honorable mentions: George Lynch (guitar) and the Tommys: Aldridge and Lee (drums)
If I wanted to create just a gorgeous looking band, I would take Europe, in their youth, and put Sykes in the guitar position. 🙂

wow, it’s only Monday and we already have our Question of the Week! This one really isn’t fair because it’s about band chemistry but for the sake of rock and roll…and you have to pick the band, no copping out saying you can’t decide 🙂
I actually would pick the band that’s on the first Stone Fury record…it was Lenny Wolf, Bruce Gowdy, and two session players, with Andy Johns producing. Andy Johns produced a friend of mine Harold Henkel who is a world class musician.
Note the first song Break Down the Wall when I was expecting the band to just syncopate the guitar riff, this was 1984 too, and instead they go into this counterpoint that’s right out of the mind of a great Classical composer, and this was just supposed to be some rock band! Bruce Gowdy is as good as Eddie Van Halen or any guitarist, even though he was influenced by him. His playing on this record is very deep; Lenny is the Idol himself…this record might be my favorite record, it’s got everything, even some great prog moves. They made one follow up record that’s also great but it was a techno record, it’s a lot better than Turbo though; better songs, and Lenny goes from a drum machine to a live drummer in the same song; it’s such a cool idea you wonder how no one else thought of it.
Wow Dana, you are really wearing out my brain cells!!
Vocals – Ozzy
Lead Guitar – Edward Van Halen
Rhythm – James Hetfield
Bass – Lemmy
Drums – Phil Rudd (Curveball I know but I always loved how Rudd played on those AC/DC albums. Simple, in the pocket, always on time and knew when to pick and choose his moments)
RPS,
🙂
Vocals: Robert Plant
Guitar: Jimmy Page
Bass: John Paul Jones
Drums: John Bonham
(mic drop!)
I have to really think about this one, but right now I’m too tired! Other than my drummer (John Bonham) I have to think about my other members
Vocals – Rob Halford, Ronnie James Dio, or John Bush
Guitar – Randy Rhoads
Guitar – Eddie Van Halen
Bass – Cliff Burton
Drums – Dave Lombardo
Would this lineup survive as a working band? I highly doubt it…but it would be awesome musicianship
Rattle,
This shows the level of brain fog that I have, how did I forget my favorite vocalist, The Metal God (hangs my head in SHAME)?
