  1. These bands are really ripping off fans who mortgage their home in order to go what is being billed as the final show ever. It’s supposed to be special. You were there. You bought custom gear designed specifically for that show. Nostalgia may have brought a tear to your eye when the retiring band takes a final bow as a lifetime of memories flood thru your mind in a split second. Then several years later the band comes back and you’ve been had. Again.

    1. I know what you’re saying but at this point I think it’s buyer beware. Just assume it’s going to happen.

    2. RPS
Right. And if I was ever a victim of that sleazy scheme I would personally burn/throw out every recording, pictures, memorabilia of that band. I don’t care if they have an album in my personal Top 10. You are now on my special “list”. I may recall some of your songs sometimes in my head but as far as my time and $$$ you are dead.

  2. Well stated RPS. Genuinely surprised and a sense of being “Who’d!, Again!” Ozzy did it, KI$$, Motley Crue and now one of the Godz of Heavy Metal have snickered us again. Would’ve looked a lot better had they said they’d being doing one offs and special events in the furutre back in 19′. Got to admit, Meh-tallica has had a better business plan and consideration for their fan base. Obviously, folks can change their minds. I’m glad they’re back, AND I hope they don’t limit themselves any longer, keeping open minds that anything can and will happen. Such as Dave Lombardo behind the kit, again!

Everyday I look into the mirror
Staring back I look less familiar
    I’ve seen all seven faces
Each one looks a lot like me

    1. Tasker, i love your quoted lyrics for the song Seven Faces! Great song off Slayer’s “God Hates Us All” album.

Like you, I’m glad Slayer is back. But i will admit that I’m a little upset about it….i was at, what was supposed to be, the last Slayer show. It was an awesome show that i totally absorbed, thinking the band was over. Watching Kerry King take off his chains at the end of the show and dropping them on the stage and seeing Tom Araya getting emotional as he looked at the crowd and thanked them. He was on the stage for several minutes after the show show ended doing this, and the last band member to leave the stage. Also, when Kerry King says its over, its over….i thought it to be true. I’ve always thought Kerry to be honest in his comments, so i feel a little betrayed by him.

IDK….KK just announced his debut album from his solo project, he recently did an interview commenting he hasn’t been in touch with Tom Araya since the last show five years ago. It seems like KK was moving on with his new Slayer sounding band. Why does Slayer need to do these shows????

Slayer is my favorite of all thrash bands….just crushing riffs with every album release. And i agree with you….Meh-tallica does have a better business plan, they always have…they do indeed have consideraton for their fan base and show genuine passion for them with their interactions.

  3. I’m fine with this as long as it doesn’t turn into a full blown reunion with five more albums and twenty years of touring ahead. If they want to do a couple shows here and there, then so be it. From everything I have read, that’s all we’re going to get. These two shows and nothing more. I’m sure some more one offs could happen, but I bet (and hope) that’s it. I kinda already figured they’d do something like this. The timing was a bit odd since KK is about to release a new album. Maybe he’ll use this to sell more albums, and that’s where the timing makes sense. Either way more power to him and…FUCKING SLLLLLLLLLAAAAAAAYEEEEERRRRRRR!!!!!!
