SINGER STEPHEN PEARCY QUITS RATT

pearcybookcover Ratt frontman Stephen Pearcy has released the following statement:

“After 30 years creating the band Ratt and losing a real brother, Robbin, it’s time that I personally part ways with the band.
I am officially done with having anything to do with them due to the constant turmoil, unresolved business, personal attacks/threats in the public forum, and most of all, the disrespect to the fans.

I’m very content and proud of the legacy and the music I’ve created. This music will live well beyond any of our lifetimes.

I owe no one anything but a huge heartfelt thank you for coming to the party for the last 30 years.
With much respect, life goes on and the music I created will continue to be heard for years to come despite the dark clouds that have lingered for far too long.

I will personally continue to make music and perform live shows.
See you out there.
Sincerely,
SEPearcy”

Ratt’s last album was 2010′s Infestation.

  1. Well, I have to agree and confirm that good ‘ole Pearcy is one of the biggest pricks I ever had the unfortunate pleasure to meet….I was a roadie for Saigon Kick for part of a tour they did with Ratt back in the day and Pearcy was a complete arrogant jack-ass the whole time I was with the tour. I have never meet anyone that treated people with such contempt and disrespect no matter who they were. I find it funny that he talks about “The fans”. from my observations of him he could care less about “The Fans.” To him they are nothing more than an end to a means….

  2. RATT has always been, and will always be, my favorite metal band. There is enough talent in this group for three bands. Let’s just hope that Stephen can heal from the passing of his sister and that his departure from the band is short lived.

  3. I saw them in 1984 W/Twisted sister… What a self absorbed douche! does he really think his 2nd rate hairband is that legendary? His two songs have alreaady pretty much faded from the classic rock music scene. This bubble gum metal band was always just so-so. I bet the instrument playing band members are relieved not to have to deal with Captain Ego anymore and can move on to actually making music.
