SINGER STEPHEN PEARCY QUITS RATT

pearcybookcover Ratt frontman Stephen Pearcy has released the following statement:

“After 30 years creating the band Ratt and losing a real brother, Robbin, it’s time that I personally part ways with the band.
I am officially done with having anything to do with them due to the constant turmoil, unresolved business, personal attacks/threats in the public forum, and most of all, the disrespect to the fans.

I’m very content and proud of the legacy and the music I’ve created. This music will live well beyond any of our lifetimes.

I owe no one anything but a huge heartfelt thank you for coming to the party for the last 30 years.
With much respect, life goes on and the music I created will continue to be heard for years to come despite the dark clouds that have lingered for far too long.

I will personally continue to make music and perform live shows.
See you out there.
Sincerely,
SEPearcy”

Ratt’s last album was 2010′s Infestation.

  1. I was never a huge Ratt fan, just liked the few popular hits they had. FF about 20 years, and thanks to internet radio, many more songs became available, and I was floored about how many good songs they did have and how none of those songs made it to the air (in the NY area, anyway). Pearcy’s vocals were never really spectacular, probably one of the reasons I wouldn’t bother seeing them live. From the sounds of it, I didn’t miss much. Still, the dozen+ Ratt tunes on my MP3 player are always worth listening too.

  2. Ahhhh man, too bad, that last record was really good IMO. Now I dread the potential of the remaining band gets a new singer and tours with ALL the other bands from this era (or beyond) with a new singer(s)…ugh. This list is getting huge: LA Guns, Warrant, Queensryche, Quiet Riot, Skid Row, Great White, Foreigner, Styx, etc.-man, what a fan’s nightmare…better than nothing to many, I suppose.

  3. Bands usually have a 5 to 10 year window to say what they have to say artistically after that there’s nothing left to say. Ratt didn’t have much to say to begin with. They should have moved on years ago.
