Ratt frontman Stephen Pearcy has released the following statement:
“After 30 years creating the band Ratt and losing a real brother, Robbin, it’s time that I personally part ways with the band.
I am officially done with having anything to do with them due to the constant turmoil, unresolved business, personal attacks/threats in the public forum, and most of all, the disrespect to the fans.
I’m very content and proud of the legacy and the music I’ve created. This music will live well beyond any of our lifetimes.
I owe no one anything but a huge heartfelt thank you for coming to the party for the last 30 years.
With much respect, life goes on and the music I created will continue to be heard for years to come despite the dark clouds that have lingered for far too long.
I will personally continue to make music and perform live shows.
See you out there.
Sincerely,
SEPearcy”
Ratt’s last album was 2010′s Infestation.

I’ve seen Ratt twice. Once in ’87 on the Dancing Undercover tour, and again in ’89 on the Reach For The Sky tour. They were incredible at both shows! They were all working together and making great music at that time.
Maybe some substance abuse is to blame, but let’s face it…all relationships end, whether it’s business or personal. It’s human nature to want to do other things. Best of luck to Stephen, and I hope they can all find some peace and happiness in music and in life.
For me, Dancing Undercover is probably their greatest album. Warren’s tone on that one is my favorite of all time.
As long as Warren keeps making music…
I am so glad I saw them in Tampa when they opened up for the Scorpions a few years ago. I was in the front row and was handed their set list when they finished playing. That wasn’t the first time I have seen Ratt, but it was the last time I saw them….and they put on an excellent show.
Steven I always liked ya’ll’s music. So I understand you want to move on. So good luck to you & hope you enjoy it!
Not surprising but this is the kind of shit you have to go through being in a band…any band fame or no I know I’ve been in enough of them. I never liked a lag ass drummer anyway, I used to listen to Out Of The Cellar almost non stop so I went to see them with Poison when they were touring for the “Cat” tour Poison was awesome Ratt who was headlining bored me senseless because of Blotzer’s no life drumming. Steve’s doing the right thing.
Judging from his statement. Ratt is probably glad to be rid of him. He was in the “I” band anyway. “…the music I’ve created…” (said it twice) “I owe no one anything…” Granted, the music was great, and the live shows were insane, but it was hardly an individual effort, hence the word “band”.
