SINGER STEPHEN PEARCY QUITS RATT

pearcybookcover Ratt frontman Stephen Pearcy has released the following statement:

“After 30 years creating the band Ratt and losing a real brother, Robbin, it’s time that I personally part ways with the band.
I am officially done with having anything to do with them due to the constant turmoil, unresolved business, personal attacks/threats in the public forum, and most of all, the disrespect to the fans.

I’m very content and proud of the legacy and the music I’ve created. This music will live well beyond any of our lifetimes.

I owe no one anything but a huge heartfelt thank you for coming to the party for the last 30 years.
With much respect, life goes on and the music I created will continue to be heard for years to come despite the dark clouds that have lingered for far too long.

I will personally continue to make music and perform live shows.
See you out there.
Sincerely,
SEPearcy”

Ratt’s last album was 2010′s Infestation.

  1. Always been a huge Ratt fan and I’m sad to see him go. But while making music is a business, it still should be enjoyable and when it isn’t, it’s time to move on. You can’t be an entertainer if you aren’t having fun. Nothing but respect for Mr. Pearcy and I wish him all the very best in his future endeavors.

  2. As someone mentioned, Ratt sounded great in the studio but not so great live, and this even back in their hey days of the 80s. I saw them in 83 when they were headlining a tour with Bon Jovi as the opening act. I wasn’t that much of a fan of Bon Jovi’s but they played and sounded way better than Ratt who were the headliners. Their glory faded decades ago. Through numerous line up changes and mediocre records, they just could never get it together anyway.

    1. Actually I think that tour was ’85, because I remember it was the summer after I graduated HS.

    2. It was 85′ and Bon Jovi killed it, Ratt sucked. Studio band much like the The Cars. Worst band I ever saw live. Worse than Ratt.

    3. I recall seeing them on the same tour in Tallahassee, FL. I agree that Bon Jovi was much better.
