Ratt frontman Stephen Pearcy has released the following statement:
“After 30 years creating the band Ratt and losing a real brother, Robbin, it’s time that I personally part ways with the band.
I am officially done with having anything to do with them due to the constant turmoil, unresolved business, personal attacks/threats in the public forum, and most of all, the disrespect to the fans.
I’m very content and proud of the legacy and the music I’ve created. This music will live well beyond any of our lifetimes.
I owe no one anything but a huge heartfelt thank you for coming to the party for the last 30 years.
With much respect, life goes on and the music I created will continue to be heard for years to come despite the dark clouds that have lingered for far too long.
I will personally continue to make music and perform live shows.
See you out there.
Sincerely,
SEPearcy”
Ratt’s last album was 2010′s Infestation.

After looking up a few recent live videos of Ratt on YouTube, Pearcy is the weakest link in that lineup. Of course, people love to hear the original vocalist. His vocals were unique in the 80’s and Beau Hill produced them just right. But, his vocals haven’t aged well over time. The other band members are what make the music. Maybe they should start something new with a different vocalist and a different name. I always felt Corabi never got a fair shake with Motley. He was once in the band as a second guitarist. Give him a call and change the name of the band. Don’t keep the RATT name.
As I understood it, Tommy Lee was upset that they had to sack Corabi. The problem was the record company. They had a contract with the guys, and one of the signatures on that contract was Vince’s, so they basically told the band and Vince they were getting back together.
I met John Corabi in 1998. I got the sense that at the time he was tired of talking about it, because he must have been getting asked about it constantly, but he willingly spoke about it, anyway. After all, although HE MAY HAVE DISCUSSED IT a million times, THE PEOPLE ASKING HIM HADN’T ALREADY HEARD IT a million times.
I had the opportunity to see them a couple years ago here in calgary, even got to meet warren and stephen briefly. they were great guys, warren signed my axe. they put on a good show, but i do admit since Robbin`s passing it isnt the same RATT n` ROLL so maybe its for the best if theyre not getting along then well…….
FUCK RATT…LET’S DANCE!
Good luck Stephen!! I loved your bands and ur music (Arcade).
I seen them about 4 years ago in Des Moines and they were great! However they only played for about 50 minutes. The opening band played longer than they did and I was very disappointed in that. But then I found out he had emergency hernia surgery. He must have been in some serious pain at that show, and he gave it his all for his time on stage. I wish him well!
Yea. I was a tthe same show.
