SINGER STEPHEN PEARCY QUITS RATT

pearcybookcover Ratt frontman Stephen Pearcy has released the following statement:

“After 30 years creating the band Ratt and losing a real brother, Robbin, it’s time that I personally part ways with the band.
I am officially done with having anything to do with them due to the constant turmoil, unresolved business, personal attacks/threats in the public forum, and most of all, the disrespect to the fans.

I’m very content and proud of the legacy and the music I’ve created. This music will live well beyond any of our lifetimes.

I owe no one anything but a huge heartfelt thank you for coming to the party for the last 30 years.
With much respect, life goes on and the music I created will continue to be heard for years to come despite the dark clouds that have lingered for far too long.

I will personally continue to make music and perform live shows.
See you out there.
Sincerely,
SEPearcy”

Ratt’s last album was 2010′s Infestation.

  1. I didn’t realize Blotzer owned the Ratt name. That’s a drag, because he’s the least important member. He’s not like John Bonham, Peter Criss or even Tommy Lee. Not having the original lead singer always sucks, it never works. Motley wasn’t Motley without Vince and Ratt is not Ratt without Pearcy.
It’s like Skid Row – unless they get Bach back nobody cares (even if they did get him back a few people would care).

  2. One of my all time fav bands. Just wanted to say thank you Stephen for the kick ass music you helped make with Ratt. I still enjoy this music as much today as I did 30 years ago when I was 12. Sorry to hear the news but some guys just can’t get along no matter how great the music they make together is. Just look at dokken and lynch. It sucks but thats life. Good luck to you Stephen and the rest of the guys in Ratt. And of course ……. Ratt n Roll forever !!!!!!!

    1. I agree Mike S. And I think you’re the Mike I know. Lol. RATT was as important to me as Dokken, KISS, Motley Crue, and Poison. All these bands have suffered from the drama over the years. I saw RATT with Jizzy Pearl, and unfortunately never got to see them with Stephen. But like Mike says, Ratt N Roll Forever! Peace.

  3. Time for new Ratt N Roll….I actually was sitting in the front lounge area at a Best Western in Clear Lake, IA hours before the Ratt concert and saw Stephen walk by. It was only him and me in the room – I said “Hello Stephen” wearing a Ratt concert shirt knowing I’m a fan and he just said Hey! didn’t even take the time to talk to \me but then Firehouse saved the day shortly after, the whole band sat down talked to me for about 20 minutes. My cover pic is of firehouse before they left to do their show opening for Ratt that night. I’m glad Stephen left the band because I think he just was sick of everything to do with Ratt, can’t really blame him. I hope they regroup without him because I really love their music!. I had a back stage pass that night to meet Ratt and even then Stephen said like two words. 30 years is a long time…..can’t really blame him for his actions but I wish we could of talked, pic or a brother hug it would have been Awesome!!

    1. Great comment, thank you! It will be interesting to see what direction Warren goes in. Hopefully, In your Direction and Mine! ba-dump-dump!

    2. So because he didnt give you the attention you though you deserved, you thought he was an ass? Do you ever get in a bad mood? I know I do at times and I dont want to be talking either.

  4. He is right…his music will last in the fans hearts. We try to get Ratt played on air but no one wants to play anything but ‘Round and Round’
Wishing you the best and thanks for 30 years

  5. I saw the band about 3 yrs ago in very small venue, they sounded Ok and Stephen was singing right in front of me , well I’m not big on singing songs right to the singer, and he was singing to me , when he saw I wouldn’t sing back he said ” Well screw you” and went to the other side of the stage to sing and just gave me dirty looks , ” oh well” sorry Mr Pearcy , your all washed out,, I alway thought he was to full of himself, Bowing out gracefully!!

    1. Yep, Gina! Had a similar experience, but you really pissed him off. Too funny! I bet it really got under your skin at the time, but what a funny memory now, huh!
