SINGER STEPHEN PEARCY QUITS RATT

pearcybookcover Ratt frontman Stephen Pearcy has released the following statement:

“After 30 years creating the band Ratt and losing a real brother, Robbin, it’s time that I personally part ways with the band.
I am officially done with having anything to do with them due to the constant turmoil, unresolved business, personal attacks/threats in the public forum, and most of all, the disrespect to the fans.

I’m very content and proud of the legacy and the music I’ve created. This music will live well beyond any of our lifetimes.

I owe no one anything but a huge heartfelt thank you for coming to the party for the last 30 years.
With much respect, life goes on and the music I created will continue to be heard for years to come despite the dark clouds that have lingered for far too long.

I will personally continue to make music and perform live shows.
See you out there.
Sincerely,
SEPearcy”

Ratt’s last album was 2010′s Infestation.

  1. Saw Pearcy at small gigs in Morristown a few times in addition to Ratt shows back in the day. Guess it’s back to the small shows. I’m fine with that, albeit sad a bit. As for the other comments, Ratt was incredible in its day. Many great songs … Not just Round and Round. In fact that song isn’t even among my top 10 favorites.

    1. Thank you, Barry! Great comment. I saw him too in the mid 90s here in Atlanta at the Cotton Club. I think he was playing with Arcade. He kept going behind the curtain the whole show for just a second, and when they played RAR he got pretty frustrated when he put the mic in the audience and nobody sang along. So, he wasn’t on top of the world at the time, he’s so busy with racing and other projects and brought us a lot of great music(along with Warren, Juan, Robbin & Bobby) that we’ll listen to and watch until the end of our days. RATT N ROLL

  2. Saw you guys back in the early 80’s with Motley Crue, doing the John Sheer thing. I still have the demo cassette from the show. All good things come to an end and this one ended when Robin passed. You guys were great but the party’s over.

    1. I think he is going to spell it Mousse’ though…. First single… “A Colby day in hell before I reunite” Then the follow up “Wouldda shouldda Goudda…. ” And the ballad “That ain’t a tootsie roll, this place has a cat livin here”

  3. I will say this I so looked forward to seeing Ratt last year in a small venue The Surf Ballroom in Clear Lake Iowa and what a major bummer Stephen was. He was either drunk or high or some combination of both. stumbling around on stage I had the fortunate pleasure to see Ratt when I was younger and they were playing stadiums and will remember the good times and try to forget the night at the Surf.

    1. Bill, I also saw Ratt at the Surf & they were a mess. I took my nephew & his friend to the Iowa jam back in the day & Ratt, Poison, Tesla, Winger & the BulletBoys were there, they were all great then.
