SINGER STEPHEN PEARCY QUITS RATT

pearcybookcover Ratt frontman Stephen Pearcy has released the following statement:

“After 30 years creating the band Ratt and losing a real brother, Robbin, it’s time that I personally part ways with the band.
I am officially done with having anything to do with them due to the constant turmoil, unresolved business, personal attacks/threats in the public forum, and most of all, the disrespect to the fans.

I’m very content and proud of the legacy and the music I’ve created. This music will live well beyond any of our lifetimes.

I owe no one anything but a huge heartfelt thank you for coming to the party for the last 30 years.
With much respect, life goes on and the music I created will continue to be heard for years to come despite the dark clouds that have lingered for far too long.

I will personally continue to make music and perform live shows.
See you out there.
Sincerely,
SEPearcy”

Ratt’s last album was 2010â€ēs Infestation.

  1. Not surprised I wouldn’t want to be bashed on facebook or in the media, Bobby is a greedy big mouth and contributed very little to RATT , too bad they couldn’t just replace him and move on, saw the replacement drummer for the few shows RATT did in January I thought they sounded even better . This is horrible news for a huge RATT fan like myself it really sucks but I will support SEP if he ever tours my area, RATT with a replacement singer no way didn’t work with Jizzy and wont work with anyone else, sad to see the band come to this, fans can only put up with so much drama till they just wont come back, things were looking really good for a while there.

    1. I agree. Several years back RATT and Bon Jovi were playing in Louisville , KY and Bobby Blotzer and Tico Torres were signing posters at a record store. Tico was cool as hell but Bobby was a jackass. I told him to keep his poster. Haven’t liked him since

    2. I hear ya…I got backstage to meet Ratt when they toured with Bon Jovi…Stephen didnt even COME backstage..neither did Bobbi and unfortunately the only one from Bon Jovi that DID come backstage was Ticco…he was AWESOME! and Juan from Ratt sat at my table..now HE was a really cool dude…Robin and Warren were assholes tho! They did let me take pics with them but for some “unknown” reason…when I went to have them developed..was told that NONE of the pictures turned out..the WHOLE ROLE was ruined…I WAS PISSED!

    3. as for bobby I met him at fm station niteclub in LA spent the next 2 days with him and others no problems with bobby we stayed in touch I lived in Nashville steve pearcy another big story wanted to race cars even threw a piddley sum of money to a funny car had to make sure the sun did not shine on his ass had to have the spotlight on him well he failed and could not handle it ratts time has come and gone good riddance to you pearcy and may we see you singing karokkee on a ferry boat someday

  2. Maybe some of you on here need to pay attention more and listen to the crap Blotzer mouths off. Wishing his singer almost gets beat to death??? And that’s just one of the many things he has mouthed off lately. He’s a piece of shit and just blew it for the rest of the band. Congrats ASSHOLE.

  3. This isn’t surprising at all. I saw a hair Metal fest last year in Chicago which Ratt headlined. Him and Blotzer almost came to blows onstage. He kept going back to Blotzer and screaming at him. He took his shirt off once and was waving him on as to fight him onstage. I didn’t think they would finish the show. It was a mess

  4. This is so stupid. Ratt has been over since the late 90’s. Back in the 80s, they were pretty damn good…they had a ton of hits, their vids were pretty slick (after all, they got Uncle Milty to be in a couple) and Ratt-N-Roll was a cool thing.
Fast forward to 2001. I was stationed in Fayetteville, NC and was playing at a local club called “Itz”. They had Ratt play there, and we opened for them. They were absolutely terrible…first off, Pearcy was still up front, but didn’t have the range he used to, but I dontthink anyone else was original. (It may have been Dimartini up there…not sure. Their bass player was some half wit drunkin dumbass with black circles painted around his eyes and his head shaved. The drummer may as well have been asleep and the were so loud you couldn’t even understand what they were saying. They did “Round and Round” and it was all but unrecognizable…then they played a bunch of crap that wasn’t even theirs like “You’ve got another think coming” by Judas Priest. They butchered it.
It was really disappointing. I was fans of theirs back in the day and I still like their music…but watching them as a trainwreck years later was pathetic.

    1. train wreck thats funny shit he ,couldn,t even stand up at the scorpion show when they called him on stage. lost alot of respect from anybody that day

    2. 2001? Bassist had his head shaved? Don’t recall Robbie Crane ever being bald. It wasn’t Blotzer on drums? Sounds like you opened for his solo band; not Ratt.

As for Stephen, I’ve always had a certain perception of the guy, and I’ve talked to people who know him QUITE well about him, and without getting into detail, I’ve been told my assessment is pretty dead-on. Say what you will about Bobby Blotzer, but Stephen Pearcy ain’t exactly the kind of guy you want your kids to aspire to be like.

    3. I just seen Ratt with L.A guns, Warrant and Dokken at Freedom Hill in Michigan, and they rocked so hard I was so glad th see Ratt. There legacy will alway live on, RATT N ROLL for life 🙂

    4. I was at that show too! It was my 40th birthday. I had a blast. I missed a lot of LA Guns, but I thought all the bands performed pretty well that night.

    5. T-Bone, there’s no way I believe your statement. I’m a GIRL. A RATT fan from the 80’s and 90’s. No I haven’t bought an album since RFTS, but you claim to be a musician who opened up for RATT and you don’t know if Warren DeMartini was playing that night? There’s no (and I save this word for very special occasions) FUCKING way you can be a true musician and not know that one of the greatest guitarists ever to walk the planet was on the same stage as you had just “graced”. What on earth did your band play that night? Poison to my ears covers?? Don’t worry, yours isn’t the only stupid, waste-of-time comment on here, but it’s definitely the most idiotic and unbelievable IMO. I wish only true fans would leave comments here. RATT N ROLL 4EVER \m/ \m/

  5. Hell, I thought they all OD’d years ago. Didn’t even know they did anything past “Invasion of Your Privacy” Thought they’d just drifted into obliviousness like Winger, Warrant, and White Lion. 🙂

    1. HEY Warrant, winger, Jack Russell, and l.a. guns are touring right now together in a town near you!

    2. Umm…it ain’t Warrant. Jani Lane died a few years back. Weak replacement.

The fact that Pearcy has left Ratt was a surprise to me since I didn’t even know they were still together. Last I knew, Pearcy was touring with his own version of the band.

He was NEVER a good lead. He had no range t all and all of his vocals sounded like he was being choked. I liked the music for the most part, but Pearcy was never any good.

    3. You can listen to them right here on EddieTrunk.com too. Put Winger in the search and voila.

      Dana from EddieTrunk.com 🙂

    4. Winger is still rocking and mike tramp of white lion is as good as ever. Get your shit straight.
