SINGER STEPHEN PEARCY QUITS RATT

pearcybookcover Ratt frontman Stephen Pearcy has released the following statement:

“After 30 years creating the band Ratt and losing a real brother, Robbin, it’s time that I personally part ways with the band.
I am officially done with having anything to do with them due to the constant turmoil, unresolved business, personal attacks/threats in the public forum, and most of all, the disrespect to the fans.

I’m very content and proud of the legacy and the music I’ve created. This music will live well beyond any of our lifetimes.

I owe no one anything but a huge heartfelt thank you for coming to the party for the last 30 years.
With much respect, life goes on and the music I created will continue to be heard for years to come despite the dark clouds that have lingered for far too long.

I will personally continue to make music and perform live shows.
See you out there.
Sincerely,
SEPearcy”

Ratt’s last album was 2010′s Infestation.

    1. I never got to see them but my concert-going friends said I would’ve been disappointed. Apparently, they were a much better studio band and it was a different experience to hear them live. I’m being nice here. Still it’s a “Shame shame shame”. 😉

    2. I saw them in the late 80’s and they were every bit as good as in studio. Not sure about anything more recent.

    3. not true.they were great in the 80’s n very good,when stephen’s there.he keeps leaving n coming back.i’ve met him n warren.cool guys,who put on a great show.

    4. I saw Ratt at Kemper Arena in Kansas City, circa 1989. They weren’t bad live, but yes, probably better overall in the studio. Ratt was a lot better live than Britny Fox, though, who went on right before Ratt. BF lead singer Dean Davidson ranted and dropped more F-bombs between songs than they played songs to begin with. Opener Kix kicked them both in the teeth far as that goes. Kix was talented and energetic, and lead singer Steve Whiteman showed quite a sense of humor while engaging the crowd between songs.

    5. I feel like that too. I finally got a chance to see them a few years ago and was kind of disappointed. They never were close to a favorite but I did enjoy everything I heard on radio and cd. Maybe they were just too old at the time or a bad night but sounded terrible in person.

    6. This is a true statement. I saw them 4 times in the 80’s. Ratt is a band I truly love from the 80’s, but in concert, it just wasn’t there. Pearcy’s vocals were not even close to our then “perfect” sound of a cassette, and the overall sound was much less than that of the studio cuts. Great band, Live, not so much.

    7. I would say your concert going friends were wrong , Ratt was an Excellent live band saw them in the eighties and throughout the decades and when the original band was intact they sounded great . Warren Demartini being a much underrated guitar player .

    8. I was able to see them in “86-’87 at the San Diego Sports Arena when they were touring with Poison, I thought they were great! But I was 16 and it was the 80’s so who knows!

  1. I got to meet Ratt in the late 90’s when a friend had a meet & greet in Philly. It was them LA Guns Great White and someone else. Thanks to that experience I lost respect for Stephen Pearcy. Great White & Jack Russell were down to Earth dudes, took pics offered fruit off a fruit tray. When it was Ratt’s turn asked about pics & should have known when he kinda laughed but he said we are doing pics in a moment down the hall through the doors. It was a door that led to outside the venue.

    1. Ratt they had a couple good songs, but that’s it. Stephen pearcy is a douche. Ratt was a cookie cutter band in the 80s. HEis no david lee roth oor Sammy haggar, he is easily replaceable.

  2. Hey…sometimes when you gotta go, you gotta go….damn the financial deficit…peace of mind and better quality of like are worth a million bucks.

Good luck to you sir…and the rest of the band.

  3. I like Stephen’s vocals and Understand why he would miss Robbin… Constantly being with the same people for 30 years probably could get old and we all say things we regret… Facts are: RATT is a great band, Stephen is a great singer, and it is sad that they will not be able to keep it together.

  4. Iown3 Ratt albums amd te songwriting is fair to middlin. But to give Ratt a fair hearing get te first album “Out of te Cellar” Tey put one bi boot on thhe accelerator and never let up.Peace allan j moore RN

    1. I would say your writing is far below “fair to middlin”! Maybe 3rd grade level at best
