SINGER STEPHEN PEARCY QUITS RATT

pearcybookcover Ratt frontman Stephen Pearcy has released the following statement:

“After 30 years creating the band Ratt and losing a real brother, Robbin, it’s time that I personally part ways with the band.
I am officially done with having anything to do with them due to the constant turmoil, unresolved business, personal attacks/threats in the public forum, and most of all, the disrespect to the fans.

I’m very content and proud of the legacy and the music I’ve created. This music will live well beyond any of our lifetimes.

I owe no one anything but a huge heartfelt thank you for coming to the party for the last 30 years.
With much respect, life goes on and the music I created will continue to be heard for years to come despite the dark clouds that have lingered for far too long.

I will personally continue to make music and perform live shows.
See you out there.
Sincerely,
SEPearcy”

Ratt’s last album was 2010′s Infestation.

  1. Enough is enough. Ratt needs to step up their game with a GOOD singer, or fade away without a trace. This has been a joke for ten years now.

    1. Never thought Ratt was a “heavy” amongst the bands of their time, only 2-3 legit songs for all their time together

    2. all you crazy evidently your not a heavy music lover ratt had tons of great songs and yea i am a huge ratt fan always have and always will be

    3. What’s going on with bands these days. Motley Crue retiring after next year, Kiss didn’t want in the Hall of Fame, now Stephen leaving Ratt. All the cool bands I grew up with are going away. Grow up guys and just make music!!!!

    1. Shame, shame, shame they had such a Lack Of Communication. Stephen will be a Wanted man out on his own. When he comes to Detroit i would love to see him but i would be worried he might get shot Between The Eyes…..See what i did with all the puns BRILLIANT.

    2. good one he is the voice of ratt he needs to loose the attitude and realize all bands fight god knows i did with all of the bands ive been in

  2. What a jack ass….both lineups separate re worth nothing to promoters good luck playing to 70 people in a club
When do these bands wake up and realize they all need each other to bring people in ….

Someone should teach these guys math equal share of of pie shared is better than 100% of nothing!

After paying travel roadies etc what’s left when u play to such small audiences?

    1. actually Gerry, they DO try and gouge the promotors…Years ago, when Quiet Riot was WITH Kevin Debrow (RIP my friend) and Carlos Cavazo, I was booking them in Northern Calfifornia in 300 seat nightclubs that I promoted in…lets just say, not much more than a $2K to 2500 risk…NOW, the current line up of Quiet Riot, featuring a bass player and drummer, thats it- the rythym section- their asking price starts at $20000! Its ridiculous, the ones making anything, are the booking agents, that keep filling the festivals all summer with 100 metal acts over the weekend, most of them has beens, but face it, if you are going to work 10 shows at 20K, why go out at $3K a show, and have to work that many more??? Will soon see what Pearcy expects to make on his own, I was actually looking into booking Ratt this fall, until I saw this…

    2. How many people are you playing in front of tonight Gerry? Yeah, put on another Carpenters CD, sip your wine and shut up.

    3. What is left? Maybe self respect? …a feeling of satisfaction? …a closer look at your fans? …less stress?

I applaud the artists who play smaller gigs. There are many who don’t feel that, by doing so, they are lessening themselves in any way. There are many who feel more respect for an artist who is willing to play smaller venues and be true to their music instead of seeing how much $$$ they can rake in by putting up with bullshit.

Kudos Mr. Pearcy. I would gladly come see your show when you come to town.

    4. I see bands in small venues all the time from the 80s which is the music I love..

I am not knocking the fact they play in clubs what I am saying is this is obviously a business issue where someone thinks they are worth more solo than a whole.
