This applies to all musicians, both living, and those who have passed on.
Additionally, this is also not a matter of whom you want to meet, to fanboy, or girl over, but whom you would seriously consider teaching you, in a professional manner.
First, let me preface, that before I answer, and list my choices, I have zero musical ability. It would take a miracle worker, with the patience of a saint, to help me play, even in the most rudimentary fashion.
So, with that written, my choices are:
Drums are my preferred instrument, so I would love to take lessons from Buddy Rich. However, it has been reported, that he was somewhat of a toughie, so I think he would lose restraint with me. Therefore, my Cozy Powell, would be second in command.
Guitar: George Lynch, Randy Rhoads or Wolfgang Van Halen, as I think he would be very kind (I could also use him for drums).
Singing: Kelly Clarkson or Carrie Underwood

Guitar – I would select Randy Rhoads as a guitar teacher. Being a teacher at his Mom’s music school, Randy knows how to work with and teach students. As an expert that blended neoclassical and rock genres with his technical skill and melodic sense, Randy could teach me these genres. In addition, he could teach me his signature playing techniques such as legato, chromaticism, and minor/diminished scales, combined with fast picking, precise vibrato, and intricate, unique backing compositions for guitar solos.
Love this question – especially since I am not a musician
