I think it might have been a door poster of Jon Bon Jovi?
However, long before the official posters were acquired, I already had pages from magazines, taped to my walls.
Back in the day, many magazines had official pictures, that were meant to be “ripped out” and displayed. So, going on that premise, I think a picture of Vince Neil, from the Shout At Devil, might have been the first.
Of course, I still had some of my tween, and teen pictures up from magazines such as 16 . So, technically my real first poster, was of actor C. Thomas Howell (who played Ponyboy in The Outsiders). I loved him-LOL!
Just for giggles, let me see if I can find it….found it. OMG, memories.

The Beatles, the 4 individual photos that came in the original white album Loved those.
Probably Kiss in New York City! Now we are going back in time to keg parties and wild days! The youth today with their cell phones attached to their heads have no idea how much fun it was to have a neighborhood exactly like that 70s show!
The poster that came with Elton John’s “Captain Fantastic and the Brown Dirt Cowboy”

No idea what was first. Pretty sure the first band I was into when I started hanging posters was Motley Crue, and remember having an entire wall of posters, and cut out pictures of magazines with Motley Crue. They went away eventually, but don’t know what was the first. My favorite was my giant Metallica poster from the Creeping Death single. The picture with the bridge landscape and skull under the bridge. I still have it, along with a few more. I keep meaning to list it on eBay because I know I could probably get a hundred bucks for it. It’s super big, and in decent enough shape for its age. Has tack holes, but no rips. Been rolled in a tube for thirty years lol
The first rock poster was KI⚡️⚡️ Alive! My first poster was Evel Knievel 😉
