QUESTION OF THE WEEK: REGARDLESS OF YOUR CHRONOLOGICAL AGE, IF YOU COULD GO BACK IN TIME, WHAT CONCERTS WOULD YOU HAVE ATTENDED?

Judas Priest‘s Screaming For Vengeance tour, Whitesnake‘s Slide It In tour., Ozzy‘s Bizzard of Ozz tour and Van Halen‘s 1984 tour. I would have also liked to have seen Mötley Crüe on their Shout At The Devil tour, which I think they were opening for Ozzy on his Bark At The Moon tour.

  1. Wow, where to begin?
Deep Purple, Led Zeppelin, Aerosmith, Black Sabbath, The Cars, Peter Frampton, Ted Nugent, all from the ’70s! And so many more, too many to mention! From the ’80s? Van Halen ’81, Ozzy ’81, AC⚡️DC ’80/’81, Pat Benatar ’81, Bon Jovi ’86/’88, and too many more to remember at the moment!

    1. Doug, yes!! I failed to mention, Kiss in the 70s. I’d love to see them wipe the floor with headliners like Sabbath. Tokyo 77, MSG 77 etc!

  2. Led Zep – Song Remains the Same Tour
Yes – Going for the One Tour
    Van Halen – 1984 Tour
    Queen – The Game Tour
Elton John – Capt Fantastic and the Brown Dirt Cowboy Tour
    Rush – Permanent Waves Tour
    Eagles – Hotel California Tour
The Who – any tour with original members

  3. Oh man. This list may be long. The rankings fell apart fast so I stopped. I’m nearly 52 so this spans the ages.

Maiden – Number of the Beast (Maiden did some club dates in the states that would have been unbelievable I think)
    Maiden – World Slavery
    Sabbath – Paranoid Tour
Judas Priest Screaming for Vengeance (Maiden opening)
Ozzy – Ultimate Sin (Metallica opening)
Ozzy – Blizzard of Ozz (Motörhead opening)
Van Halen Vacation Tour 1979 (their first headlining tour)
Van Halen Women and Children First era
Kiss w/ Rush Opening (Dressed to Kill or Alive??)
Kiss @ Cobo Hall in Detroit
The Allman Brothers and Miles Davis at Fillmore East in 1970
Johnny Cash/Jerry Lewis/ Elvis back in the Sun Records days
ZZ Top World Wide Texas Tour
Damage Inc. European legs w/ Anthrax opening for Metallica
    AC/DC Highway to Hell
    AC/DC Back in Black
Allman Brothers and Grateful Dead at Watkins Glenn
Black Sabbath the End (I just could not make this happen and it irritates me so much)
The Clash 1979 (Cramps or Bo Didley opening)
Alice Cooper playing gigs with the MC5
The Big 4 Yankee Stadium show
Lynard Skynard Second Helping (Blackfoot opening)
Allman Brothers 1971 (Duane’s last tour)

    Any Zeppelin tour

Any Stones once Ron Wood got in the band prior to say 1980?

After running through this I thought of all the shows I’ve been to and feel fortunate for all I have seen – stuff like Pantera and White Zombie, Clash of the Titans, Metallica and the Cult, GNR blowing the Crue off the stage in 87’, last summers Back to the Beginning, Kiss 2000 Farwell, Maiden’s 50th in London last summer.
