This a very difficult question to answer, as there are so many albums, that could qualify.
With that “said,” off the top of my head, the two that came to mind are Blue Murder‘s Blue Murder and Lynch Mob‘s Wicked Sensation. But, if I could only pick one, shockingly (sarc), I am picking Blue Murder.
Since everyone is picking more than one album, then I will add to my list, as well.
Along with my already cited, Lynch Mob‘s Wicked Sensation, I will add Tora Tora‘s first two releases, Surprise Attack and Wild America. Just ask Rattle 🙂 .
After coming off the critical acclaim of “August and Everything After”, the Counting Crows sophomore release “Recovering the Satellites” only had the hit “A Long December” and then seemed to disappear into obscurity; which is unfortunate. Satellites has a great mix of rocker that even the great Rick Beato call a “Perfect Album”.
Truth be told, Counting Crows 3rd and 4th records, ” This Desert Life” and “Hard Candy” respectively are equally as good.
