OZZY OSBOURNE SAID HE WILL NOT BE DOING A COMPLETE SET WITH BLACK SABBATH AT THEIR “BACK TO THE BEGINNING” CHARITY SHOW

Ozzy Osbourne, recently spoke about the Back To The Beginning charity show, in which all four original members of Black Sabbath, will be playing in Villa Park in Birmingham, as a final farewell.

Osbourne said, on his  SiriusXM show Ozzy Speaks (via blabbermouth.net), “I’m not planning on doing a set with Black Sabbath but I am doing little bits and pieces with them. I am doing what I can, where I feel comfortable.”

The 76-year-old heavy metal singer, who revealed in 2020 that he had been diagnosed with Parkinson’s disease, added that he is doing what he can to get ready for the Villa Park concert.

“I am trying to get back on my feet,” he said. “When you get up in the morning, you just jump out of bed. I have to balance myself, but I’m not dead. I’m still actively doing things.”

He talked in more detail about his condition on his SiriusXM radio show. saying, “I have made it to 2025. I can’t walk, but you know what I was thinking over the holidays? For all my complaining, I’m still alive. I may be moaning that I can’t walk but I look down the road and there’s people that didn’t do half as much as me and didn’t make it.”

Proceeds from the “Back To The Beginning” show will support Cure Parkinson’s, the Birmingham Children’s Hospital and Acorn Children’s Hospice, a Children’s Hospice supported by Aston Villa.

  1. No surprise….while fans will want more, I think Ozzy believes he needs to perform only one song with the original Sabbath to have “closure” for himself…and that song will probably be “Paranoid.” Selfishly, I hope they at least perform “Children of the Grave” cuz I think that features some of Bill Ward’s best drumming.

    1. I’d love it if they played Into The Void. One of the best riffs in the history of metal!

Someone recently brought up the possibility of Ozzy lip syncing. If we stop and think about it for a minute, could Ozzy even lip sync???

  2. Still a legend no mater whether he can walk or not. Non of us should be surprised to hear this planned announcement. I think he’ll do 2 or 3 songs. The rest of the Sabbath songs sung by one of the many artist’s as part pf the tribute.

  3. Could Ozzy’s life be made into a movie? I would say yes for sure. I was just listening to the story of Brad Gillis appearing on Speak of the Devil live cd. Very interesting stuff!! Brad and band gave that recording a different vibe to the Sabbath songs. Amazing! Just as Dio sang on live Evil. Dio made the songs his own which not every non original band person can do. Ozzy has Parkinson’s. So he is limited on what he can do. It is a day to day thing on how he feels. I would love to see some deluxe versions of his solo stuff and Sabbath Bloody Sabbath. But done the right way.
