Ozzy Osbourne has posted a video on his official website explaining that his European tour dates, have once again been postponed.
He states, “I’m here to give you an update on my condition. As you probably know, or you may not know, at the beginning of this year, I had a bad fall. I screwed all the vertebrae in my neck and had to have surgery. I’ve got a lot more nuts and bolts in my neck now than in my car.”
He continued, “I’m not dying, I am recovering — it’s just taking a little bit longer than everyone thought it would. I’m bored stiff of being stuck on a f–king bed all day. I can’t wait to get off my ass and get going again, but you’re just gonna have to be a little bit more patient. I’m postponing the European tour because I’m not ready.”
He added, “I’m not retiring — I’ve still got gigs to do — but when I do come back on an American tour, I wanna be one hundred percent ready to come out and knock your fucking socks off. And also, there’s a new album on the way.”
Osbourne thanked his band, crew, promoters Live Nation and Judas Priest who have been on to support the Prince of Darkness in Europe when he’s ready. He added in true Ozzy fashion, “I just wanna say one thing to the fans: I sincerely thank you for your patience and your loyalty. I love you. Now, will you f–k off and let me get better.”

“the ozzman postponeth”
Ozzy and Black Sabbath have been a major part of my life for over 20 years now.
As much as the man has given me so much joy in what have and has been very difficult times from an emotional point of view, I now have to look at this situation like this:
“The man is almost 71-years-old. He’s achieved more than most of us ever will and more than he was told he would by his teachers at school. He’s done so much sh*t to himself with drugs and alcohol and has some how managed to survive and tell the story.
He doesn’t need to tour, or work at all ever again. He’s said to be worth an estimated £120m. What more can he possibly do? The older we get the longer things take to get better. For the sake of his health, I honestly believe the man should say “Thank you very much – good night.”
Making new albums? Why not: in his own time and at his own place without the pressure of having to go out on the road for 12-18 months. (And before he has to use backing tapes to ‘sing’ the songs like…..alright, I won’t go there!) :()
F the nationals, F the Rays…and I’m sorry Doug, but F the freakin’ Mets! I don’t split my loyalties, I have one team and those are my guys and that’s it Doug…
On another note, I don’t think Eddie VH’s health is …well, I think he might be passing out of here pretty soon…he’s doing some spiritual thing right now…..and no matter what his moodiness is at times…this is a guy who would straight up give you the shirt of his back if you needed it…this is a great guy right here.
Well obviously, Shannon, you’re still upset. Instead of being angry at me, the Nationals, Rays, and the Mets, maybe you should be angry at Dave Roberts? As ol’ Ozzy would say ~ “Don’t Blame Me!”
But Roberts is hurting too…he’s my guy Judge Doug…that’s how I roll….besides being mad at you is so much more fun. 🙂
Black Sabbath’s music has aged better than anybodys if you ask me…Ozzy, Tony, Geezer, and Bill…they were the best band of all time…their default position is more effective than anybody else’s….there’s this emotional weight to their music that isnt just nostalgia or any kind of musical trend….
