Released in June of 1985, Theatre of Pain marked a bold new chapter for Mötley Crüe – stylistically daring, musically explosive, and unapologetically street glam.
Fueled by the swagger of Smokin’ In The Boys Room and the anthemic pull of Home Sweet Home, the Crüe’s third studio album broke new ground while staying true to their hard rock roots. This trailblazing album set the music and style template for many bands that followed, while the Crüe themselves continued to evolve and reinvent their look and sound with each album.
Theatre Of Pain was their first LP to hit the US Top 10, landing at #6, and became a global smash (#7 Australia, #7 Sweden, #5 Finland, #11 Canada, first UK Top 40 at #36). The album is now RIAA Certified 4X Platinum in the US and 3X Platinum in Canada.

Earlier this month, the band stormed back onto the Las Vegas Strip launching their new show, The Las Vegas Residency 2025, at Dolby Live at Park MGM. Continuing through October 3rd, the residency marks the band’s third Vegas takeover and its first in more than a decade. A limited amount of tickets for the remaining four performances is available here.
As previously announced, Mötley Crüe are donating a portion of the proceeds from ticket sales of The Las Vegas Residency 2025 to Nevada Partnership for Homeless Youth (NPHY), a Las Vegas-based organization that provides the thousands of young people experiencing homelessness in Southern Nevada with wraparound support to help move into stable housing, grow and flourish.

This is one of my favorite CDs of all time. The live concert here is the gem if it sounds good! I experienced this tour. They came 5 times to the East coast around 84, 85. Once with Ratt and the great Lita Ford! The question is what are they asking for a remastered version that did not need remastering and a 2 cd concert? No DVD? Pretty lame.
To me, Crue died when Mick Mars left the band…..and they get buried deeper each time they “trash talk” Mick.
I remember as a 16 year old buying this album. I hated it. Still do. Seriously weak material.

****UPDATE*** My apologies to anyone who read my comment, before I edited it. I erronuously stated, that I saw this tour, when in fact, I did not. I saw the Girls, Girls, Girls tour with Whitesnake, at Madison Square Garden.
Honestly, I don’t how I confused the two, since Theatre Of Pain, was very, well, theatrical, and Girls, Girls, Girls was a return to leather, along with, Tommy Lee‘s rotating drum cage. My apologies, for the confusion, but regardless of the tour, I was still very upset, that the Whitesnake lineup, was not the classic 1984 one.
As much as I liked the Crue in the 80’s & 90’s I’ve found that each one of their albums have 1 to 3 great tracks and the rest is unremarkable. That said, I loved Home Sweet Home & Boys Room was a solid cover. I used to love that video in the mid to late 80’s. I loved all their videos especially the Girls! Girls! Girls era.
While I am not a ballads type of gal, perhaps Home Sweet Home, would be a far better song, if it had been sung by someone else?
God bless Neil, but his vocals are a tad too whiny, and high pitched (sounds like he sucked in helium), to make the song enjoyable, for me. ¯\_(ツ)_/¯ But, as I always write, to each their own.

Agree with the right singer, HSH could be an even better received song.
