Jimmy Page: The Anthology is now available to pre-order from JimmyPageAnthology.com. A companion piece to Jimmy Page By Jimmy Page, the new signed, limited edition documents Page’s musical career through selected material from his rich personal archives. Jimmy Page: The Anthology is narrated entirely in Page’s own words, and includes contextual photography spanning six decades. Hundreds of items from Jimmy Page’s private collection have been personally selected for inclusion. From iconic guitars and stage costumes, to rare posters and vinyl pressings; and from correspondence and diary entries to unseen photographs. Every piece has been photographed and brought to life with exclusive new text provided by Jimmy Page, placing it within the story of his phenomenal career.
The 384-page book sells for around $480 and ships in December from Genesis Publications. The book is limited to 2,500 copies, personally signed by Page, produced using Italian matt art 150gsm, bound with Quarter bound in black leather with gold leaf blocking and gilt page edging, and packaged in a box Felt-lined slipcase box, “inspired by the case of Jimmy Page’s first electric guitar, his 1958 Resonet Futurama.”
Page stated about The Anthology book, “I’ve really got a lot of time for the way Genesis produce their books, they’re really quality items. As someone who’s always been interested in having a library themselves, I appreciate fine bookbinding and their whole ethic of what they do and what they’re trying to do with a whole catalogue of books.”
The Anthology is British publishing company’s second book with Jimmy and follows the 2010 sell-out success of the official signed limited edition, Jimmy Page By Jimmy Page, which was Genesis’s fastest limited-edition title to sell out. (The trade edition continues to sell steadily at stores worldwide.)
Jimmy Page By Jimmy Page was photographic autobiography and visual history of Page’s career as one of the world’s most iconic guitar players.
Last October, Led Zeppelin released its first and only official illustrated book, Led Zeppelin By Led Zeppelin. It was a unique collaboration between Page, Robert Plant and John Paul Jones, who gave Reel Art Press unrestricted access to the Led Zeppelin archive.
