Kiss must be about to release something high priced, so Gene is playing the humble sad guy to try and get on everyone’s good side so the suckers buy it.
On the flip side, I get the feeling, that Simmons was actually being genuine, without needing the publicity.
I got the sense that, whether Simmons is feeling his own mortality, or he genuinely admired, and had respect for Ozzy, or both, this Piers Morgan appearance, was not about selling a product. I suppose only time will tell, and I maybe eating some humble pie, but I hope not-LOL!
When Simmons told Morgan, that even people who did not like Ozzy‘s music, couldn’t help but love him as a person, he was SPOT ON. It was difficult NOT to love Ozzy, in spite of many of his shortcomings, which he would readily admit to, in his own self deprecating way.
Besides being hysterical, I think what I loved most about Ozzy, was despite his brain being fired from decades of substance abuse, he was very smart.
If anyone watched his World Tour show, with his son Jack, whom I also love, Ozzy was very well read, and interested in a lot subjects. I always knew he was a history buff, but I did not realize just how inquisitive, and well versed he was, on a plethora of topics. God bless him, he will be sorely missed!
Well said Dana…..Ozzy was one of a kind and in my life since I bought the Paranoid album when I was 12 in 1971
The only thing I can’t stand about Gene and Paul is how they treat Ace and Peter, they can’t accept that the fans love them just as much..or it bothers them…they completely messed with their heads, and drove both of them crazy…there, I said it. They couldn’t keep up with them, as if that’s some horrible thing on their part…..Other than that, they are two geniuses who are great at assessing talent, they know what works and what doesn’t, and they are great to the fans, Gene doesn’t care about money that’s just an act…he’s still on tour because he loves doing it, he likes making money more for the sport of doing it, I don’t think he’s materialistic at all.
….Ozzy has a beautiful soul…I can still feel him from the show…he sang to me, and I believed him…he also sang beautiful melodies over really hard rock and roll and didn’t scream, that was such a cool sound…

Very well said by Gene, it’s nice to see him humble and speaking as a fan and friend of Ozzy, as opposed to, well, we all know Gene!
