According to Deadline, Hulu is throwing the metal signs with its latest docuseries.
The streamer has ordered Into The Void (w/t), which will explores heavy metal history.
The eight-part series comes from Vice Studios Canada. It will chronicle the emotional sagas behind the most towering legends and unforgettable artists in heavy metal. It will go behind the stage into the real lives of heavy metal icons.
Hulu didn’t disclose which bands will be profiled but don’t be surprised to see a bit of Black Sabbath, Metallica and Slayer in there.
Production is currently underway and it is set to debut on Hulu in 2025.
The series will be overseen by executive producers Evan Husney and Jason Eisener, who co-created pro wrestling documentary series Dark Side of the Ring, which is Vice TV’s most-watched series of all time.
It is the latest music docuseries for Hulu, which has previously been responsible for Thank You, Goodnight: The Bon Jovi Story, Road Diary: Bruce Springsteen and the E Street Band and Fanatical: The Catfishing of Tegan and Sara.
Vice has long been associated with heavy metal, having begun its move into original feature docs with 2007’s Heavy Metal in Baghdad and Mayhem biopic Lords of Chaos directed by Jonas Åkerlund.

i will watch at least juan episode.
If Vice Canada are behind this, it should be a good one. I’ve seen all the episodes of the Dark Side of the Ring, which allowed me to relive my youth a little by seeing the guys and girls I grew up watching from a different angle than just what I saw on the screen and learn about those I didn’t.
Hopefully, this Heavy Metal doc will give the viewer some stuff other than the usual “Heard a million times before” stories. Of course, everything will start with Black Sabbath and progress from there; but hopefully there will be stuff that has never been heard or seen before.
Amazingly, it is that time of year once again. To everyone in the Eddie Trunk community, all the characters who post regularly, have a very Merry Christmas / Happy Holidays and hopefully, a much more happy, safe and prosperous New Year.
To the man himself: Eddie, all the best and keep doing what you’re doing. I look forward to the documentary about yourself. I did Email you about the “Heaven’s House Band” feature that you were going to do with CarrotTop; don’t know whether or not you saw it or discussed my choice of band members. If you didn’t, and for the benefit of all the other readers/commenters, my “Heaven’s House Band” was the following:
Drums: Lee Kerslake (Uriah Heep / Ozzy Osbourne)
Guitar: Randy Rhodes (Quiet Riot / Ozzy Osbourne)
Bass: Jimmy Bain (Rainbow / Dio)
Keyboards: Jon Lord (Deep Purple / Whitesnake)
Vocals: Ronnie James Dio (Rainbow / Black Sabbath/ Dio)
Not a bad selection: What do you all think?
And, of course, and last but by no means least: Dana. All the best to you for the holiday period and for the New Year. I’m sure we’ll all be back again soon talking about something in the classic Metal world; one that is getting older and older with each passing day and is also getting smaller.
Thank you everyone – see you all again soon.
To my Brit Bud,
I wish you a very Merry Christmas, happy holidays and an even better New Year.
I pray the New Year brings prosperity, loads of happiness, health, and just as importantly, safety and peace, for you, and everyone else.
Also, I like your Heaven House Band, I think mine would be:
Eric Martin (vocals), John Sykes and George Lynch (twin guitars), Cozy Powell (drums) and Billy Sheehan (Bass). The only reason Halford is not my vocalist, is I am not sure his style would fit the musicians, around him.
Happy Holidays DJH!!!!…..Dana and Eddie are the best !!
Thank you ramithard; have a good one – stay safe.
Aww, thanks. You made me blush.
I wish you a wonderful Christmas/Hanukkah (whichever you celebrate) and even better New Year.
Had no idea that Eric Martin, John Sykes, George Lynch and Billy Sheehan had crossed over the “Rainbow Band Bridge”
I didn’t realize by heaven band, it meant they were all no longer alive..duh. I thought it meant who your ultimate band would be, never mind, I have old lady brain.
❤️you Dana. Just having fun.
LOL!! Thanks, but I still have old lady brain. 🙂
