Gene Simmons and Paul Stanley are heartbroken over the death of their former KISS bandmate Ace Frehley.
“We are devastated by the passing of Ace Frehley. He was an essential and irreplaceable rock soldier during some of the most formative foundational chapters of the band and its history,” they told Page Six in a statement Thursday.
“He is and will always be a part of KISS’ legacy,” they added, concluding that their thoughts are with Frehley’s estranged wife, Jeanette, his daughter, Monique, and “all those who loved him, including our fans around the world.”
Frehley, passed away today (October 16th) at the age of 74, after sustaining a fall, a couple of weeks ago. Additionally, TMZ, is reporting that Frehley had a brain bleed as a result of the fall. He was reportedly placed on life support, with the family, ultimately, deciding to turn off his ventilator.
Frehley, was expected to join his KISS bandmates, on December 7th, when the band was to receive The Kennedy Center Honor.

I think a fitting tribute would be to get Ace…excuse me, Paul, Gene, and Peter together w/Bruce and play All American Man, Rockin’ In the USA (you know, Trump has to have that one!) and Larger Than Life up there, and then just play Rocket Ride to an empty stage…Tommy can MC …and doesn’t him wearing Ace’s makeup just rub you the wrong way now, more so?
That totally sucks for him and his family.
A Rock Soldier indeed!
This is so sad ,eddie I know you were very close to ace so sorry for your loss , just heartbreaking
Now a full reunion show will never happen. They really should have paid Ace what he was asking. They kept putting it off so he would scale back the price for his services. Now it’s too late. R.I P Ace.
I do feel bad for Gene and Paul though. Ace was part of their youth and a very important piece in building up the band
